1. Safety Information

3. Setup

Battery Installation:

The Ryobi OLP1832BX is a 'body only' tool and requires an 18V ONE+ battery and charger (sold separately).

  1. Ensure the lopper is turned off and the safety switch is engaged.
  2. Align the battery pack with the battery port on the tool handle.
  3. Slide the battery pack into the port until it clicks securely into place. Ensure it is fully seated.
  4. To remove the battery, press the release latches on the sides of the battery pack and slide it out.

Note: Always use genuine Ryobi ONE+ 18V batteries and chargers for optimal performance and safety.

4. Operating Instructions

Before operating, ensure the battery is fully charged and securely installed. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and gloves.

Turning On/Off:

  • To turn on, disengage the safety switch (if present and engaged) and press the trigger. The blades will open.
  • To turn off, release the trigger. The blades will return to their open position. Engage the safety switch when not actively cutting.

Cutting Technique:

  1. Identify the branch to be cut. Ensure it is within the tool's 32mm (1.3 inch) cutting capacity.
  2. Position the lopper blades around the branch, ensuring the branch is fully seated within the jaws.
  3. Maintain a firm grip on the lopper.
  4. Press the trigger to activate the cutting action. The blades will close, cutting through the branch.
  5. Release the trigger to allow the blades to open for the next cut.

For optimal cutting performance, ensure the blades are clean and sharp. Avoid twisting the tool during a cut, as this can damage the blades or the tool mechanism.
