4. Setup and First Use

- Insert the empty filter holder with a paper filter (or no filter for just water) into the brewing section.
- Turn on the appliance and select the filter coffee function. Allow the full tank of water to run through. Discard the water.
- First Rinse Cycle (Espresso):
- Fill the espresso water tank with fresh water up to the MAX mark.
- Attach the portafilter (without coffee) to the brewing head.
- Place a cup under the portafilter.
- Turn on the appliance and select the espresso function. Press the 2-cup button to run a full cycle. Discard the water.
- Repeat this process for the steam function by running hot water through the steam nozzle.
These initial rinse cycles remove any manufacturing residues and prepare the machine for optimal performance.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Brewing Filter Coffee
- Ensure the appliance is plugged in and the filter coffee water tank is filled with fresh water to the desired level (indicated on the side).
- Place a paper filter (size 1x4) into the removable filter holder.
- Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the paper filter. A general guideline is 7-8 grams of coffee per cup.
- Insert the filter holder back into the brewing section.
- Place the glass carafe on the warming plate.
- Turn on the appliance and select the filter coffee function. The brewing process will begin.
- Once brewing is complete, the keep-warm plate will keep the coffee hot. The appliance features an automatic shut-off.
5.2 Brewing Espresso
- Fill the espresso water tank with fresh water.
- Select the appropriate stainless steel filter insert (for 1 or 2 cups) and place it into the portafilter.
- Add finely ground espresso coffee into the filter insert. Use the provided tamper to gently press the coffee down. Do not overfill.
- Attach the portafilter firmly to the brewing head by twisting it to the right until it locks.
- Place one or two espresso cups on the height-adjustable cup storage surface under the portafilter.
- Turn on the appliance and select the espresso function. Wait for the indicator light to show the machine is ready.
- Press the 1-cup or 2-cup button. The machine will automatically brew the programmed amount of espresso.
- After brewing, carefully remove the portafilter and discard the used coffee grounds.

5.3 Frothing Milk / Hot Water
- Ensure the espresso water tank is filled.
- Select the steam function. Wait for the indicator light to show the machine is ready for steam.
- For milk frothing: Fill a pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy). Submerge the steam nozzle tip just below the surface of the milk.
- Turn the steam control knob to release steam. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam. Once desired texture and temperature are reached, turn off the steam knob.
- For hot water: Place a cup under the steam nozzle. Turn the steam control knob to release hot water.
- After use, always clean the steam nozzle immediately to prevent milk residue from drying.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

- Daily Cleaning:

- Empty and clean the glass carafe, filter holder, portafilter, and filter inserts with warm soapy water.
