1. Introduction

The Sharper Image UHS1-SI Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier is designed to provide comfortable humidity levels in your environment. This unit features a filter-less, whisper-quiet ultrasonic operation, two mist settings, and an automatic shut-off function for safety and convenience. Its 1-gallon tank capacity supports up to 24 hours of operation.

2. Important Safety Instructions

Please read all instructions carefully before using this humidifier. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Always place the humidifier on a firm, flat, level surface.
  • Do not place the humidifier near heat sources such as stoves, radiators, or direct sunlight.
  • Do not operate the humidifier with a damaged cord or plug.
  • Unplug the humidifier from the electrical outlet when not in use or before cleaning.
  • Do not immerse the base unit in water or other liquids.
  • Keep the mist outlet clear and unobstructed.
  • Use only clean, cool tap water in the water tank. Do not add essential oils or other additives directly into the water tank or base.

4. Product Components

Familiarize yourself with the different parts of your humidifier:

5. Setup

  1. Placement: Place the humidifier on a flat, water-resistant surface at least 6 inches away from walls and furniture. Ensure the mist output is not directed at walls or electronics.
  2. Fill Water Tank:
    • Remove the water tank from the base using the integrated carry handle.
    • Turn the tank upside down and unscrew the tank cap.
    • Fill the tank with clean, cool tap water. Do not fill with hot water.
    • Securely screw the tank cap back on.
    • Place the filled water tank back onto the base, ensuring it is seated correctly.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the humidifier's power port, then plug the adapter into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

6. Operating Instructions

The humidifier features an illuminated touch control button for operation.

  1. Power On/Off: Touch the power button once to turn the humidifier on. The button will illuminate blue. Touch it again to turn the humidifier off.
  2. Mist Settings: The humidifier has two mist settings: High and Low.
    • When the humidifier is on, touch the power button to cycle between the two mist settings. The mist output will visibly change.
    • The humidifier will start on the default setting (usually high) and can be adjusted as needed.
  3. Auto Shut-Off: The humidifier is equipped with an automatic shut-off feature. When the water level in the tank is too low, the illuminated power button will briefly flash red, and the unit will automatically power off. Refill the water tank to resume operation.

7. Maintenance

Regular cleaning is essential for optimal performance and hygiene. Always unplug the humidifier before cleaning.

  • Daily Maintenance: Empty and rinse the water tank and base daily. Allow all parts to air dry before reassembly.
  • Weekly Cleaning:
    • Remove the water tank and empty any remaining water.
    • Pour 1 cup of white vinegar into the water tank and swish it around to coat the inside. Let it sit for 20 minutes.
    • Use the provided cleaning brush to gently scrub the ultrasonic transducer (the small disc in the base) and the inside of the water tank.
    • Rinse all components thoroughly with clean water until the vinegar smell is gone.
    • Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: If the humidifier will not be used for an extended period, clean it thoroughly as described above, ensure all parts are completely dry, and store it in a cool, dry place.

8. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your humidifier, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
