5. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps carefully for a secure installation.

5.1 Pre-Installation Checks:

  1. Verify TV Compatibility: Ensure your TV's screen size is between 10 and 32 inches, its weight does not exceed 20 kg, and its VESA mounting pattern is 50x50mm, 75x75mm, or 100x100mm.
  2. Identify Wall Type: Determine if your wall is wood stud, solid concrete, or brick. Do not install on drywall alone.
  3. Gather Tools: You will need a drill, stud finder (for wood studs), level, pencil, and screwdriver.

5.2 Wall Plate Installation:

  1. Mark Drilling Location: Hold the wall plate against the wall at your desired height. Use a level to ensure it is straight. Mark the two drilling points through the holes on the wall plate.
  2. Drill Pilot Holes:
    • For Wood Studs: Drill two pilot holes (e.g., 5.5mm / 7/32 inch diameter) at the marked locations to a depth of 60mm (2.36 inches).
    • For Concrete/Brick Walls: Drill two pilot holes (e.g., 10mm / 3/8 inch diameter) at the marked locations to a depth of 60mm (2.36 inches). Insert the concrete anchors (rawl plugs) into these holes, ensuring they are flush with the wall surface.
  3. Attach Wall Plate: Align the wall plate with the pilot holes. Insert the wall/lag screws through the wall plate and into the pilot holes (and anchors if applicable). Use the wall screw washers. Tighten the screws firmly until the wall plate is securely fastened to the wall. Do not overtighten.

5.3 Attaching TV to Mount:

  1. Select TV Screws and Spacers: Choose the appropriate M4 or M6 screws that fit your TV's VESA holes. The screws should be long enough to securely engage the TV's threads but not so long as to damage internal components. Use the provided spacers if your TV has an uneven back or recessed mounting holes.
  2. Attach Mount to TV: Carefully align the VESA plate of the mount with the mounting holes on the back of your TV. Insert the selected screws through the VESA plate (and spacers if used) and into the TV's mounting holes. Tighten securely with a screwdriver.

6. Operating Instructions

Once installed, your Perlegear PGXSF1 mount allows for various adjustments to optimize your viewing experience.

Adjusting the TV Position:

  • Extension and Retraction: Gently pull the TV away from the wall to extend the arm, or push it towards the wall to retract it. The arm extends up to 44 cm and retracts to 7.9 cm.
  • Swivel: Carefully pivot the TV left or right up to +/- 90 degrees to achieve the desired horizontal viewing angle. The maximum swivel angle may vary depending on TV size and distance from the wall.
  • Swivel adjustment for Perlegear PGXSF1 TV Wall Mount

  • Tilt: Adjust the vertical viewing angle by tilting the TV +5 degrees upwards or -15 degrees downwards. Loosen the tilt adjustment knobs (if present) slightly, adjust the angle, and then re-tighten to secure.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your TV wall mount.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the mount with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Periodic Checks: Every few months, check all screws and bolts to ensure they are securely tightened. Re-tighten if necessary.
  • Lubrication: If the swivel or tilt mechanisms become stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant (e.g., WD-40) can be applied to the moving joints. Wipe off any excess.

8. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter.

Issue: Mount movement (swivel/tilt) is stiff.

Solution: The joints may be overtightened or require lubrication. Locate the nuts on the swivel and tilt mechanisms. Slightly loosen them to allow for easier movement, then re-tighten to a comfortable tension. Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the moving parts if needed.

Issue: TV is not level after installation.

Solution: The 360-degree rotation feature allows for minor leveling adjustments. Gently rotate the TV until it is level. If the issue persists, re-check the wall plate installation with a level.

Issue: Screws do not fit my TV.

Solution: The package includes a variety of M4 and M6 screws of different lengths, along with spacers. Ensure you are using the correct diameter and length for your TV's VESA holes. If none of the provided screws fit, you may need to purchase specific screws compatible with your TV model. Consult your TV's manual for VESA screw specifications.
