Setup

1. Setting the Time and Date

  1. Pull the crown (the knob on the side of the watch) out to the first click position to set the date. Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise until the desired date appears.
  2. Pull the crown out to the second click position to set the time. Turn the crown to move the hour and minute hands. To ensure accurate time setting, it is recommended to set the time a few minutes ahead and then turn it back to the correct time.
  3. Once the time and date are set, push the crown back in completely to the normal position. This will start the watch movement.

Operating Instructions

Timekeeping

Your Lorus watch is designed for reliable timekeeping. Once the time is set, the watch will continue to operate as long as it is powered (typically by a quartz battery). The second hand moves in discrete steps, indicating a quartz movement.

Date Display

The watch features a date display at the 3 o'clock position. The date will automatically advance once every 24 hours. If the date changes during the day (e.g., at noon), it means the AM/PM setting is incorrect. To correct this, advance the time by 12 hours.

Water Resistance

This watch is water-resistant up to 5 bar (50 meters). This means it is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion in water, such as washing hands. It is not suitable for swimming, diving, or showering with hot water, as steam and rapid temperature changes can compromise the seals. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and bracelet regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid using chemical cleaners or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish.

Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by a small battery. When the battery runs low, the second hand may start moving in two-second intervals (End-of-Life indication) or stop completely. Battery replacement should only be performed by a qualified watch technician or authorized service center to ensure proper sealing and prevent damage to the movement.

Storage

When not in use for extended periods, store your watch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. The original watch box provides excellent protection.
