2. Setup Guide

2.1 Powering the Device

The SMARTRO SC91 can be powered by a DC adapter (included) for continuous operation and display brightness, or by 2 AA batteries (not included) for backup power and portability. Batteries are primarily for memory backup during power outages.

  1. Insert 2 AA batteries into the battery compartment on the back of the main unit, observing polarity.
  2. Connect the DC power adapter to the main unit and plug it into a wall outlet. The display will light up.

2.2 Setting Up the Wireless Outdoor Sensor

The outdoor sensor transmits temperature and humidity data to the main unit.

  1. Open the battery compartment of the wireless sensor and insert 2 AA batteries, observing polarity.
  2. Select a channel (1, 2, or 3) on the sensor. The main unit will automatically search for the sensor.
  3. Place the outdoor sensor in a shaded area, protected from direct sunlight and rain, to ensure accurate readings and prolong its lifespan. The transmission range is up to 200ft/60m in an open area.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Setting Time and Date

  1. Press and hold the SET button to enter time setting mode.
  2. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to adjust the value.
  3. Press SET again to confirm and move to the next setting (e.g., 12/24 hour format, hour, minute, year, month, day, weekday language).
  4. Press SET one more time to exit setting mode.

3.2 Projection Feature

The clock can project time and temperature onto a wall or ceiling.

  • Projection Angle: The projection arm can be rotated 180 degrees for optimal viewing.
  • Projection Brightness: Press the PROJECTION button to cycle through Off, Dim, and Bright projection levels.
  • The projected temperature automatically switches between indoor and outdoor readings.

3.3 Alarm Functions

The SC91 features dual alarms (ALARM1 and ALARM2) with a snooze function.

  1. Press the ALARM button to select ALARM1 or ALARM2.
  2. Press and hold the ALARM button to enter alarm setting mode.
  3. Use UP or DOWN to adjust the alarm time and alarm repeat mode (M-F, S-S, or M-F and S-S).
  4. Press ALARM to confirm each setting.
  5. To activate/deactivate an alarm, press the ALARM ON/OFF switch on the back of the unit.
  6. When an alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button to activate snooze. The snooze duration can be set from 5 to 60 minutes.
  7. The alarm will automatically turn off if left alone for 2 minutes.

3.4 Weather Station and Comfort Indicator
