The SRT 8209 is a compact and efficient HD Digital Terrestrial Receiver, designed for easy installation and user-friendly operation. 3. Safety Instructions
For safe and optimal operation, please observe the following:
- Ensure the power supply matches the specifications (220 - 240 V AC, 50/60 Hz).
- Do not expose the receiver to rain or moisture.
- Avoid placing the device near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the receiver.
- Do not open the casing; refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- Keep batteries away from children and dispose of them properly.
4. Setup
4.1 Connecting the Receiver
Follow these steps to connect your SRT 8209 receiver to your television and antenna:
- Antenna Connection: Connect your terrestrial antenna cable to the RF IN port on the rear panel of the receiver.
- TV Connection (HDMI): For high-definition video and audio, connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI port on the receiver to an HDMI input on your television.
- TV Connection (SCART/Péritel): If your TV does not have an HDMI port, use a SCART cable to connect the TV SCART port on the receiver to the SCART input on your television.
- Audio System Connection (Optional): For enhanced audio, connect an audio amplifier or soundbar to the Digital Audio S/PDIF (Coaxial) output.
- Network Connection (Optional): Connect an Ethernet cable to the LAN port for RSS feeds and weather forecasts.
- Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the receiver and then plug it into a wall outlet.

4.2 Initial Power On and Channel Scan
Upon first power-on, the receiver will guide you through the initial setup process:
- Turn on your TV and select the correct HDMI or SCART input.
- The receiver will display a setup wizard. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your language and country.
- The receiver will automatically begin scanning for available DVB-T2 channels. This process may take several minutes.
- Once the scan is complete, the receiver will save the channels and display the first available channel.
The SRT 8209 has a memory capacity for up to 400 channels.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Remote Control Functions
The remote control allows full operation of your receiver. Insert the two AAA batteries provided into the remote control, observing polarity.

Key functions include:
- POWER: Turns the receiver on/off or to standby.
- INFO: Displays current channel information.
- MENU: Accesses the main menu for settings and features.
- OK: Confirms selections or displays the channel list.
- CH +/-: Changes channels.
- VOL +/-: Adjusts volume.
- EPG: Opens the Electronic Program Guide.
- REC: Starts immediate recording (requires USB storage).
- TIMESHIFT: Activates the timeshift function (requires USB storage).
- USB: Accesses media playback from a connected USB device.
5.2 Electronic Program Guide (EPG)
Press the EPG button on your remote control to view the Electronic Program Guide. The EPG provides information on current and upcoming programs for up to 7 days. You can also schedule recordings directly from the EPG.
5.3 USB Recording and Timeshift
The SRT 8209 supports recording and timeshift functions via its USB 2.0 port. Connect a USB storage device (e.g., USB flash drive or external hard drive) to the USB port on the front panel.
- Recording: Press the REC button to start recording the current program. You can also schedule recordings using the EPG or the timer function (up to 30 timer events with 'once', 'daily', 'weekly' modes).
- Timeshift: Press the TIMESHIFT button to pause live television. You can then resume playback, fast forward, or rewind.
- Media Playback: The USB port also allows you to play back various media files (images, videos, music) stored on your USB device.
- Software Update: The USB port can be used to update the receiver's software.
Note: The USB port is inactive in standby mode to conserve energy.

5.4 Network Features (Ethernet)
Connect the receiver to your home network via the Ethernet port to access additional features such as RSS feeds and weather forecasts.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
To clean the receiver, unplug it from the power outlet. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
6.2 Software Updates
Periodically check the manufacturer's website for available software updates. Updates can be installed via the USB port as described in section 5.3.

If you encounter issues with your SRT 8209 receiver, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
