Initial Device Setup

  1. Charge the Device: Connect the PV3 to a computer using the provided USB cable to ensure it is fully charged before first use.
  2. Install Power Core Software: Download and install the DynoJet Power Core software from the official DynoJet website onto your computer. This software is required for managing tunes and device updates.
  3. Update Firmware: Connect the PV3 to your computer via USB. Use the Power Core software to check for and install the latest firmware updates for your device.

Connecting to Vehicle

  1. Locate Diagnostic Port: Identify the OEM diagnostic port on your 2016-2020 Polaris General 1000/4. Refer to your vehicle's service manual if needed.
  2. Connect PV3: Securely connect the diagnostic cable from the PV3 device to the vehicle's diagnostic port. Ensure a firm connection.
  3. Power On Vehicle: Turn the vehicle's ignition to the ON position (do not start the engine). The PV3 device should power on automatically.

  • Up/Down Arrows: Navigate through menu options.
  • Select Button (Center): Confirm a selection or enter a submenu.
  • Back Button (Curved Arrow): Return to the previous screen.
  • Power Button (Circle): Power on/off the device (short press for sleep, long press for power off).

Main Menu Options

  • Flash Tune: This option allows you to flash pre-loaded performance tunes or custom tunes onto your vehicle's ECU.
    1. Select "Flash Tune" from the main menu.
    2. Choose the desired tune from the list.
    3. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the flashing process. Do not disconnect the device or turn off the vehicle during flashing.
  • Vehicle Tools: Access real-time vehicle data, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and other vehicle-specific functions.
    1. Select "Vehicle Tools".
    2. Choose from options like "View Data", "Read DTCs", "Clear DTCs".
    3. "View Data" displays live sensor readings such as RPM, speed, temperature, and more.
  • Device Tools: Manage device settings, update firmware, and perform device diagnostics.

    2. Options include "Firmware Update", "Device Info", "Restore Defaults".

Data Logging

The PV3 can log vehicle data for later analysis. Refer to the Power Core software manual for detailed instructions on configuring and analyzing data logs.

Maintenance

  • Keep Clean: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Store Properly: Store the PV3 in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Cable Care: Inspect the diagnostic and USB cables regularly for damage. Do not use damaged cables.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check for and install firmware updates via the Power Core software to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Device does not power on. Low battery or improper connection. Ensure the device is charged. Verify the diagnostic cable is securely connected to the vehicle's port and the vehicle ignition is ON.
Tune flashing fails. Interruption during flashing, incorrect tune, or low vehicle battery. Ensure vehicle battery is fully charged. Do not interrupt the process. Verify the tune is correct for your vehicle model and year. Retry the flash.
Device not recognized by PC. Driver issue or faulty USB cable. Reinstall Power Core software and drivers. Try a different USB port or cable.
"Error" message on screen. Specific error code or general issue. Note the error code (if any) and refer to the DynoJet support website or contact technical support.
