Setup
Setting the Time
- Pull the crown (the knob on the side of the watch) out to the second click position.
- Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
- Push the crown back in to the normal position to start the watch.
Setting the Date (if applicable)
If your watch model includes a date display, follow these steps:
- Pull the crown out to the first click position.
- Rotate the crown to set the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this may interfere with the automatic date change mechanism.
- Push the crown back in to the normal position.
Battery Information
Your GUESS W1049G7 watch is powered by a single LR44 battery, which is pre-installed. The battery life varies depending on usage. When the watch stops or the chronograph functions become erratic, it is time to replace the battery. We recommend having the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and water resistance.
Operating Your Watch
Chronograph Function
The chronograph allows you to measure elapsed time independently of the main time display.
- Start: Press the upper pusher (button) to start the chronograph. The chronograph second hand will begin to move.
- Stop: Press the upper pusher again to stop the chronograph. The elapsed time will be indicated by the chronograph hands.
- Reset: With the chronograph stopped, press the lower pusher to reset all chronograph hands to their zero positions.
Water Resistance
Your GUESS W1049G7 watch has a water resistance rating of 100 meters (10 ATM). This means it is suitable for swimming and snorkeling. However, it is not suitable for scuba diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before exposing the watch to water. Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is submerged or wet.
Maintenance
Cleaning Your Watch
- Wipe the watch case and strap with a soft, dry cloth regularly to remove dust and dirt.
- For the silicone strap, you can use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap and water, then rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
- Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the watch's finish.
Battery Replacement
When the battery needs replacement, it is highly recommended to take your watch to an authorized GUESS service center or a reputable watch repair shop. This ensures that the correct battery type (LR44) is used and that the watch's water resistance is maintained after the case back is opened and resealed.
Troubleshooting
- Watch not running: Check if the crown is fully pushed in. If it is, the battery may need replacement.
- Incorrect time: Reset the time as described in the "Setting the Time" section. If the issue persists, the watch may require servicing.
- Chronograph hands not resetting to zero: This may indicate a need for chronograph hand calibration or battery replacement. Consult a professional watch technician.
- Condensation under the crystal: This indicates a loss of water resistance. Immediately take the watch to a service center to prevent further damage.
