4. Setup and Installation
- Prepare the Sprinkler Body: Ensure the sprinkler body (not included) is clean and free of debris. Flush the system briefly to remove any dirt from the lines.
- Remove Old Nozzle (if applicable): If replacing an existing nozzle, carefully unscrew and remove it from the sprinkler body.
- Install the MP3000 Nozzle: Screw the MP3000 nozzle onto the riser of the sprinkler body. Hand-tighten only. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the nozzle or sprinkler body.
- Orient the Nozzle: Once installed, pull up the riser and rotate the nozzle until the desired fixed left edge of the spray pattern is aligned with the area to be watered. The MP Rotator has a fixed left edge.
5. Operating Instructions
The MP Rotator MP3000 nozzles are designed for efficient water distribution. Adjustments can be made while the water is running for immediate visual feedback.
5.1. Arc Adjustment (Spray Pattern)
- The MP3000 nozzle has an adjustable arc from 90 to 210 degrees.
- To adjust the arc, hold the nozzle housing and rotate the outer ring (blue part) clockwise to increase the arc or counter-clockwise to decrease it.
- Alternatively, use the provided orange adjustment tool. Insert the tool's pin into the small hole on the top of the nozzle and rotate.
5.2. Radius Adjustment (Throw Distance)
- The radius can be reduced by up to 25% from its maximum setting.
- To adjust the radius, turn the large screw located in the center of the nozzle.
- Turn the screw clockwise to decrease the radius and counter-clockwise to increase it. Use the orange adjustment tool for easier manipulation.
- Note: Do not turn the radius adjustment screw more than five full turns from the open position, as this may cause the screw to detach.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Filter Cleaning
- The MP Rotator nozzles include a removable filter screen at the base of the nozzle.
- If you notice reduced performance or an irregular spray pattern, the filter may be clogged.
- To clean, turn off the water supply, unscrew the nozzle from the sprinkler body, and carefully pull out the filter screen.
- Rinse the filter under running water to remove debris. Reinsert the clean filter and reattach the nozzle.
6.2. Winterization
- In regions subject to freezing temperatures, it is crucial to properly winterize your irrigation system to prevent damage.
- Consult your irrigation system's main manual for specific winterization procedures, which typically involve draining the system or blowing out the lines with compressed air.
- The MP Rotator nozzles are designed to withstand normal winterization processes.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Reduced spray distance or irregular pattern | Clogged filter screen; Low water pressure; Debris in nozzle. | Clean filter screen (Section 6.1); Check water pressure at the source; Remove nozzle and flush out any debris. |
| Nozzle not rotating or stuck | Debris inside the nozzle; Insufficient water pressure. | Remove nozzle and rinse thoroughly; Verify adequate water pressure for the system. |
| Water leaking from base of nozzle | Loose connection; Damaged O-ring or threads. | Ensure nozzle is hand-tightened securely; Inspect O-ring and threads for damage and replace if necessary. |
