Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to replace your yoyo's bearing and axle:

1. Disassemble Your Yoyo: Carefully unscrew the two halves of your yoyo to access the existing bearing and axle.
2. Remove Old Bearing: Use the included bearing remover tool to gently extract the old bearing from the yoyo. Insert the tool into the bearing and apply slight leverage to pop it out.

3. Replace Old Axle: Remove the old axle. Insert the new M4*12mm long axle into one half of the yoyo.
4. Insert New Bearing: Place the new unresponsive concave yoyo bearing (R188K, size 6.35*12.7*4.76mm) onto the axle. Ensure it sits flush.

5. Reassemble Yoyo: Screw the two yoyo halves back together, ensuring they are tightened securely but not excessively.

Stringing the Yoyo:

After assembly, you will need to string your yoyo. The kit includes replacement strings. To string an unresponsive yoyo, create a slip knot at one end of the string and place it over your middle finger. Feed the other end of the string through the gap of the yoyo, over the bearing. Wind the string around the bearing several times to create tension, then pull the string tight to secure it. The yoyo should spin freely without returning to your hand unless a 'bind' trick is performed.

Operating an Unresponsive Yoyo

An unresponsive yoyo, also known as a 'bind return' yoyo, requires a specific technique to return to your hand. Unlike responsive yoyos that return with a simple tug, unresponsive yoyos spin freely at the end of the string, allowing for longer trick combinations. To bring it back, you must perform a 'bind' trick, which involves creating friction between the string and the bearing.

Basic Bind Technique:

1. Throw the yoyo down hard so it spins at the end of the string.
2. Place your non-throw hand's index finger into the yoyo gap, behind the string.
3. With your throw hand, quickly pull the string upwards. This action should cause the string to catch the bearing and wind back up, returning the yoyo to your hand.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your yoyo components.

• Bearing Cleaning: If your yoyo's spin time decreases or it becomes responsive, the bearing may need cleaning. Carefully remove the bearing using the tool, clean it with a yoyo-specific bearing cleaner or mineral spirits, and allow it to dry completely before reinstallation.
• String Replacement: Yoyo strings wear out over time. Replace them regularly to prevent breakage during play. The kit includes replacement strings.
• Axle Inspection: Periodically check the axle for any bends or damage. A damaged axle can affect the yoyo's balance and spin. Replace if necessary.

Troubleshooting

• Yoyo Not Spinning Freely: Ensure the bearing is clean and properly seated. Check that the axle is straight and not overtightened.
• Yoyo Returns Too Easily (Responsive): This indicates the bearing might be dirty or needs lubrication. Clean the bearing as described in the Maintenance section. Ensure you are using an unresponsive bearing.
• Difficulty with Binding: Practice the bind technique. Ensure the string is properly wound around the bearing before attempting the bind. A worn string can also affect binding; replace if needed.
• Vibration During Play: Check if the yoyo halves are screwed together tightly. Inspect the axle for any bends. A damaged bearing can also cause vibration.
