Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Open the LCD screen to access the battery compartment.
- Insert one of the provided NP-FV5 batteries into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. SD Card Installation
- Locate the SD card slot, typically near the battery compartment.
- Insert a compatible SD memory card (4GB up to 128GB, not included) into the slot until it clicks into place.
- Important: Format the SD card through the camcorder's menu before first use to ensure compatibility and prevent system malfunction.
3. Initial Charging
Connect the camcorder to the USB charger using the provided USB cable. The charging indicator light will illuminate. A full charge typically takes several hours. The camcorder supports recording while charging, allowing for extended use without interruption.

Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
Open the LCD screen to power on the camcorder. Close the LCD screen to power off the camcorder.
2. Video Recording
- Ensure the camcorder is in video mode (check the mode button).
- Press the Record button to start recording. Press it again to stop.
- The camcorder supports FHD 1920x1080 (15FPS) and HD 1280x720 (30FPS) video resolutions.
- Use the zoom toggle (W/T) to digitally zoom in or out (16X digital zoom). Note: Optical zoom is not supported.
- The pause function allows you to temporarily stop recording and resume in the same file without creating a new one.
3. Photo Capture
- Switch the camcorder to photo mode using the Mode button.
- Press the Photo button to capture a still image.
- The camcorder supports up to 24MP JPEG image resolution.
4. Webcam Function
To use the camcorder as a webcam:
- Connect the camcorder to your computer using the USB cable.
- On the camcorder screen, select "PC CAM" mode.
- Download and install the AMCAP software on your computer (if not already present).
- Open AMCAP or your preferred video conferencing application to use the camcorder as a webcam.

5. TV Output
Connect the camcorder to a television using the provided AV cable to view your recordings directly on a larger screen. Select the appropriate input source on your TV (NTSC/PAL compatible).
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camcorder body. For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Storage: When not in use, store the camcorder in the provided dust bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: Fully charge batteries before long-term storage and recharge them every few months to maintain battery health.
