Maintenance and Cleaning
Proper cleaning ensures the longevity and performance of your Waffle Maker.
- Always unplug the Waffle Maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Wipe the cooking plates with a damp, soapy cloth, then rinse with a clean damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.
- For baked-on batter, pour a small amount of cooking oil onto the hardened batter and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. This will soften the batter, making it easier to remove with a paper towel or soft cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the non-stick coating.
- The exterior of the Waffle Maker can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
- Do not immerse the Waffle Maker in water or any other liquid.
Troubleshooting
If your DASH Mini Waffle Maker is not functioning correctly, please check the following:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Waffle Maker does not turn on. | Not plugged in or power outlet issue. | Ensure the unit is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check the circuit breaker. |
| Waffles are not cooking evenly. | Insufficient preheating or uneven batter distribution. | Allow the Waffle Maker to fully preheat until the indicator light turns off. Distribute batter evenly across the cooking surface. |
| Waffles stick to the plates. | Insufficient oil/spray or damaged non-stick coating. | Lightly coat cooking surfaces with cooking spray or oil before each use. Avoid using metal utensils that can scratch the coating. |
| Smoke or unusual odor during first use. | Normal during initial use due to protective oils. | This is normal. It should dissipate after the first few uses. Ensure good ventilation. |
