The Range Mode provides direct distance measurements to various targets. The AOFAR GX-2S offers a range of 5-600 yards for reflective targets, 5-415 yards for trees, and 5-285 yards for flags, with an accuracy of ±0.5 yards.

This mode is ideal for quickly and accurately locking onto the flagstick, even with background objects. The device provides a vibration feedback when the flag is successfully locked.

The slope function calculates the adjusted distance based on elevation changes, providing a more accurate 'play as' distance. For golf tournaments, this function can be easily turned off.
