  3. Placement: Place the rice cooker on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface, away from walls or cabinets to allow for proper ventilation. Ensure it is out of reach of children and pets.
  4. Power: Ensure the power cord is not damaged and the voltage matches your household's electrical supply (120 Volts).

Operating Instructions

Cooking Rice

  1. Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of uncooked rice. One full measuring cup typically yields about 2 cups of cooked rice.
  2. Rinse Rice: Rinse the rice in a separate bowl until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch.
  3. Add to Pot: Place the rinsed rice into the removable inner pot.
  4. Add Water: For white rice, a general ratio is 1 measuring cup of rice to 1.5 measuring cups of water. Adjust water levels according to rice type and personal preference. The inner pot has water level markings for convenience.
  5. Place Inner Pot: Ensure the exterior of the inner pot is dry, then place it into the main rice cooker unit.
  6. Secure Lid: Place the tempered glass lid securely on the rice cooker.
  7. Plug In: Plug the power cord into a 120V electrical outlet. The 'WARM' indicator light will illuminate.
  8. Start Cooking: Press the 'COOK' switch down. The 'COOK' indicator light will illuminate, and cooking will begin.
  9. Automatic Keep Warm: Once the rice is cooked, the 'COOK' switch will automatically flip up, and the rice cooker will switch to 'WARM' mode. The 'WARM' indicator light will remain on.
  10. Resting Period: For best results, allow the rice to rest in 'WARM' mode for 5-10 minutes before serving. This allows the steam to distribute evenly.
  11. Serve: Use the provided mixing spoon to fluff and serve the rice. Avoid using metal utensils that could scratch the non-stick coating.
  12. Unplug: Always unplug the rice cooker from the outlet when not in use.

Cooking Other Grains or Soups

The rice cooker can also be used for other grains like oatmeal or for preparing soups. Adjust water ratios and cooking times as per the specific recipe or grain type. Monitor the cooking process through the glass lid.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper cleaning ensures the longevity and performance of your rice cooker.

  • Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Inner Pot and Lid: Wash the removable inner pot, glass lid, measuring cup, and mixing spoon in warm, soapy water. These parts are generally not dishwasher safe; hand washing is recommended. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the rice cooker unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  • Storage: Store the rice cooker in a dry place when not in use.
