Operating Instructions

Data Transfer

Once the hard drive is installed and the docking station is connected to your computer, the drive should appear as an external storage device. You can then drag and drop files, copy, or move data between your computer and the installed hard drive. The USB 2.0 interface supports data transfer rates up to 480 Mbps.

The One-Touch Backup (OTB) feature allows for easy data and document copying from your computer to an external hard drive. To use this function:

  1. Download the compressed OTB software package from the official service website.
  2. Decompress the file on your computer.
  3. Install the OTB software correctly.
  4. Once installed, press the "One-Touch Backup Button" on the docking station to initiate the backup process.

Maintenance

  • Keep the docking station clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself. Refer to the warranty section for service information.
  • Always safely eject or unmount hard drives from your operating system before physically removing them from the docking station to prevent data corruption.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions:

  • Drive not recognized:
    • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected and the docking station is powered on.
    • Verify that the hard drive is correctly seated in its slot. For IDE drives, ensure the adjustable connector is aligned.
    • Check the USB connection to your computer. Try a different USB port or cable.
    • If it's a new drive, it may need to be initialized and formatted in your operating system's Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS).
    • Ensure the drive is formatted with a compatible file system (FAT32, exFAT for Linux/macOS; FAT32, exFAT, NTFS for Windows).
  • Slow data transfer:
    • The docking station uses USB 2.0, which has a maximum theoretical speed of 480 Mbps. Actual speeds may vary.
    • Ensure your computer's USB port is functioning correctly.
  • One-Touch Backup (OTB) not working:
    • Confirm that the OTB software is correctly installed on your computer.
    • Remember that OTB software is not compatible with macOS or iOS.
    • Ensure the hard drive is properly recognized by the system before attempting OTB.
