4. Installation Instructions
Follow these steps carefully to install your Kichler Toman outdoor wall mount light.
- Turn Off Power: Before starting, ensure the electrical power is turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box to prevent electric shock.
- Prepare Mounting Surface: Ensure the electrical outlet box is securely mounted to the building structure.
- Attach Mounting Strap: Secure the mounting strap (part of C) to the outlet box using the provided outlet box screws. Ensure the strap is oriented correctly for the fixture.
- Make Electrical Connections:
- Connect the bare copper or green ground wire from the fixture to the ground wire from the outlet box using a wire connector. If no ground wire is present in the outlet box, attach the fixture's ground wire to the ground screw on the mounting strap.
- Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the outlet box using a wire connector.
- Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from the outlet box using a wire connector.
- Carefully tuck all wires into the outlet box.
- Mount Fixture Assembly: Align the fixture assembly (A) with the mounting strap and secure it using the screws provided in the mounting hardware kit.
- Install Bulb: Insert one 150 Watt maximum, E26 medium base incandescent bulb (not included) into the socket.
- Attach Glass Shade: Carefully place the glass shade (B) over the bulb and secure it according to the fixture's design, typically by twisting or using retaining screws. Ensure it is snug to prevent rattling.

5. Operating Instructions
Once installed, operating your Kichler Toman outdoor wall mount light is straightforward.
- Power On: Restore power to the fixture at the main circuit breaker or fuse box.
- Switch Operation: Use the wall switch connected to the fixture to turn the light on and off.
- Dimming Functionality: This fixture is dimmable. If connected to a compatible dimmer switch (sold separately), you can adjust the light output. Ensure the bulb used is also dimmable.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will help preserve the appearance and functionality of your light fixture.
- Cleaning: To clean the fixture, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents as they may damage the finish or glass.
- Glass Shade Cleaning: The clear seeded glass shade can be cleaned with a mild glass cleaner applied to a cloth, then wiped onto the glass. Avoid spraying cleaner directly onto electrical components.
- Bulb Replacement: Ensure power is off before replacing the bulb. Allow the bulb to cool completely before touching. Replace with an E26 medium base bulb, up to 150 Watts.
- Anti-Rust Feature: The fixture is designed with anti-rust properties for outdoor durability. However, periodic inspection for any signs of wear or corrosion is recommended.
