Maintenance

  • Storage: To keep Play-Doh soft and pliable, always return it to its original tub and seal the lid tightly after each use. Store in a cool, dry place.
  • Rehydrating Dry Play-Doh: If Play-Doh becomes dry, add a few drops of water and knead it thoroughly. Repeat until the desired consistency is achieved.
  • Cleaning Surfaces: To remove Play-Doh from surfaces, allow it to dry completely, then scrape it off. For stubborn residue, use warm water and soap.
  • Cleaning Clothes: For Play-Doh on fabric, allow it to dry completely, then brush off as much as possible. For remaining residue, hand wash with mild soap and cold water. Do not use hot water as it can set the stain.

Troubleshooting

  • Play-Doh is too hard: Add a few drops of water and knead until soft.
  • Play-Doh is too sticky: Knead it for a few minutes. If it remains sticky, it might be over-hydrated. Allow it to air dry slightly before kneading again.
  • Play-Doh stuck in carpet: Let it dry completely, then use a stiff brush or vacuum to remove. For remaining residue, a carpet cleaner may be used.
