3. Setup
Follow these steps to prepare your game for play:
- Unfold the Gameboard: Place the gameboard on a flat surface.

4. How to Play
4.1 Game Objective
The goal of Monopoly: Marvel Avengers Edition is to be the last player remaining with money when all other players have gone bankrupt. This is achieved by drafting heroes, collecting money, and strategically building your team.
4.2 Player Turn
Players take turns in a clockwise direction. The player who rolls the highest number on two dice goes first. On your turn, follow these steps:
- Roll the Dice: Roll both dice and move your token clockwise around the board the number of spaces indicated.
- Action Based on Space: The action you take depends on the space your token lands on:
- Hero Space (Property): If you land on an unowned Hero space, you may draft (buy) it for the price indicated on the board. If you choose not to, the Banker immediately auctions it to the highest bidder. If you land on a Hero space owned by another player, you must pay them the recruitment fee (rent) listed on their Hero card. This fee increases if they have Bases or Headquarters on that Hero.
- Infinity Gauntlet or Stark Industries: Draw the top card from the respective pile and follow its instructions. Return the card to the bottom of the pile after use.
- Children of Thanos: If you land on a "Children of Thanos" space, you must battle them as per the game rules (refer to the Game Guide for specific battle mechanics).
- GO: When you pass or land on the "GO" space, collect $200 from the Bank.
- Free Parking: This is a safe space; no action is required.
- Go to Jail: Move your token directly to the "Jail" space. You do not collect $200 for passing GO.

4.4 Mortgaging Heroes
If you need money, you can mortgage your Heroes. Turn the Hero card face down to indicate it is mortgaged. You receive the mortgage value from the Bank. No recruitment fees can be collected on mortgaged Heroes. To unmortgage a Hero, pay the Bank the mortgage value plus 10% interest.
4.5 Bankruptcy
If you owe more money than you can pay, even after selling Bases/Headquarters and mortgaging Heroes, you are bankrupt and out of the game. All your assets (Heroes, Bases, Headquarters) are turned over to the player you owe money to, or to the Bank if you owe the Bank.
4.6 Winning the Game
The last player remaining in the game, after all other players have gone bankrupt, is the winner!
