2.2 Initial Cleaning

Before first use, thoroughly wash the stainless steel capsule, silicone lid, and any included accessories (scoop, brush) with warm soapy water. Rinse well and allow to air dry completely.

3.1 Filling the Capsule

1. Ensure the capsule is clean and dry.
2. Using the provided scoop, fill the stainless steel capsule with your desired coffee grounds. The capsule can hold approximately 5 grams of coffee powder.
3. Important: The grind size of your coffee is crucial for optimal results. A medium to fine grind is generally recommended. Avoid grinds that are too coarse (may result in weak coffee) or too fine (may clog the capsule or machine).
4. Gently tamp the coffee grounds, but do not over-compress them. Leave a small space at the top for the lid.
5. Clean any excess coffee grounds from the rim of the capsule to ensure a proper seal with the silicone lid.
6. Place the silicone lid securely onto the capsule. Ensure the small hole on the lid is aligned with the 6 o'clock position when inserted into the machine's capsule holder.

3.2 Brewing Coffee

1. Open the capsule holder of your Dolce Gusto machine.
2. Insert the filled i Cafilas capsule into the holder. Ensure the small hole on the silicone lid is facing the front (6 o'clock position) and aligns correctly with the machine's water inlet.
3. Close the capsule holder securely.
4. Place your cup under the dispenser.
5. Select your desired water volume and start the brewing process as you would with a standard Dolce Gusto capsule.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Capsule

Regular cleaning is essential to maintain the capsule's performance and longevity.

1. After each use, allow the capsule to cool down for at least 2 minutes before handling. Caution: The capsule will be hot immediately after brewing.
2. Carefully remove the capsule from the machine.
3. Remove the silicone lid and discard the used coffee grounds.
4. Rinse the stainless steel capsule and silicone lid under running water. Use the included cleaning brush to remove any remaining coffee particles from the filter mesh and inside the capsule.
5. Wash with warm soapy water, then rinse thoroughly.
6. Allow all components to air dry completely before reassembling or storing.

4.2 Storage

Store the clean and dry capsule in a cool, dry place. Ensure all components are completely dry to prevent mold or odors.

5. Troubleshooting

• Issue: Weak or watery coffee.

  Solution: Check your coffee grind size. It might be too coarse. Try a finer grind. Also, ensure the capsule is filled adequately and the coffee is lightly tamped.

• Issue: Coffee not flowing or machine struggling.

  Solution: The coffee grind might be too fine or over-compressed, causing a blockage. Try a slightly coarser grind or tamp less firmly. Ensure the capsule's filter mesh is clean and free of debris.

• Issue: Capsule getting stuck or difficult to remove.

  Solution: Ensure the capsule is correctly inserted and aligned in the machine's holder. Do not force it. After brewing, allow the capsule to cool slightly before attempting to remove it. If the silicone lid detaches, ensure it is properly reattached and sealed before next use.

• Issue: Water or coffee powder overflowing from the lid.

  Solution: This can occur if the capsule is overfilled or the coffee grind is too fine, leading to excessive pressure. Reduce the amount of coffee grounds or use a slightly coarser grind. Ensure the lid is securely placed and the capsule rim is clean before closing.
