1. Product Overview

This Elekpia replacement remote control (Model: XHY353) is designed to operate various Element LCD and LED televisions. It functions as a direct replacement without requiring complex programming.

2. Setup and Installation

The Elekpia replacement remote control is designed for immediate use with compatible Element TV models. No programming or pairing is required for initial setup.

2.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
  2. Slide open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert two (2) 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note:

  • Batteries are not included with the remote control.
  • This remote control is compatible with Element LCD and LED TVs. It is not compatible with Element Roku or Fire TVs.
  • The remote uses infrared (IR) technology. Ensure a clear line of sight between the remote and the TV's IR sensor for proper operation.

3. Operating Instructions

The remote control provides standard functions for navigating and controlling your Element television.

3.1 Button Functions

  • POWER: Turns the TV on or off.
  • USB: Accesses USB media input.
  • P.MODE (Picture Mode): Adjusts picture settings.
  • S.MODE (Sound Mode): Adjusts sound settings.
  • SLEEP: Sets a timer for the TV to turn off automatically.
  • ASPECT: Changes the screen aspect ratio.
  • Number Buttons (0-9): Directly select channels.
  • '-': Used for entering sub-channels (e.g., 7-1).
  • MUTE: Mutes or unmutes the TV audio.
  • VOL (+/-): Increases or decreases the volume.
  • SOURCE: Selects input sources (HDMI, AV, etc.).
  • CH (Channel Up/Down): Changes channels sequentially.
  • MENU: Opens the TV's main menu.
  • MTS (Multi-channel Television Sound): Selects audio tracks or stereo/mono modes.
  • FREEZE: Pauses the current image on screen.
  • INFO: Displays current channel information.
  • Navigation Buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right): Navigate through menus and options.
  • OK: Confirms selections in menus.
  • RETURN: Returns to the previous menu or screen.
  • CH.LIST (Channel List): Displays the list of available channels.
  • EXIT: Exits the current menu or function.
  • Playback Controls (Play/Pause, Stop, Rewind, Fast Forward): Controls media playback (if supported by the TV's media player).
  • REPEAT: Repeats media playback.
  • C.C (Closed Caption): Toggles closed captions on/off.
  • V-CHIP: Accesses V-Chip parental control settings.
  • AUTO: Initiates auto-tuning or auto-adjustment functions.
  • ADD/ERASE: Manages channel lists (add/remove channels).
  • FAV (Favorite): Accesses favorite channels list.

4. Maintenance

Proper care ensures the longevity and reliable performance of your remote control.

4.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the remote control with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use liquid cleaners, sprays, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

4.2 Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Always replace both batteries simultaneously with new ones of the same type (AAA).

5. Troubleshooting

If your remote control is not functioning as expected, try the following steps:

5.1 Remote Not Responding

  1. Check Batteries: Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity (+/-). Replace old batteries with new 1.5V AAA batteries.
  2. Reset the Remote:
    • Remove the batteries from the remote.
    • Press every button on the remote for approximately 3 seconds to drain any residual power and check for stuck buttons.
    • Reinsert brand-new batteries.
  3. Clear Obstructions: Ensure there are no objects blocking the line of sight between the remote control and the TV's IR sensor.
  4. Proximity: Operate the remote within a reasonable distance from the TV.

5.2 TV Not Responding After Remote Reset

If the remote still does not work after resetting it, try resetting the TV:

  1. Unplug the TV from the wall power outlet.
  2. Press and hold the power button on the TV itself (not the remote) for 15 seconds to clear any residual power.
  3. Plug the TV back into the power outlet and turn it on.
  4. Attempt to use the remote control again.
