The Lunos e² system is a highly efficient, decentralized ventilation unit with heat recovery, designed for room-by-room ventilation. It operates on a reversible airflow principle using a ceramic regenerator, ensuring low energy consumption and quiet operation.

Setup and Installation
Installation should be performed by a qualified professional. Ensure all local building codes and regulations are followed.
Pre-installation Checks:
- Verify wall thickness: Minimum 300 mm.
- Ensure required hole diameter: 162 mm.
- Confirm power supply (12V DC) is available at the installation site.
Installation Steps:
- Drill a 162 mm diameter hole through the wall at the desired location, ensuring a slight downward slope to the outside for drainage.
- Insert the round duct (DN160 mm) into the drilled hole. Cut the duct to the appropriate length for the wall thickness.
- Install the Lunos e² ventilation unit into the duct. Ensure the ceramic heat exchanger and fan are correctly oriented.
- Mount the exterior grille (1-WE 180) on the outside of the wall, securing it with screws.
- Mount the interior panel with filter (9/IBE) on the inside of the wall.
- Connect the ventilation units to the 5/UNI-FT universal control unit.
- Connect the 5/NT18 power supply to the universal control unit and to the main power.
- Install the 5/W2U switch in a convenient location and connect it to the universal control unit.
Operating Instructions
The Lunos e² system is designed for continuous operation to maintain optimal indoor air quality and heat recovery.
Basic Operation:
- Use the 5/W2U switch to turn the system ON/OFF.
- The universal control unit (5/UNI-FT) allows selection of different operating modes and fan speeds. Refer to the control unit's specific manual for detailed programming.
- The system operates by alternating airflow direction every 70 seconds, allowing the ceramic heat exchanger to absorb heat from outgoing air and release it to incoming fresh air.
Operating Modes:
The Lunos e² system typically offers multiple fan speed settings to adjust ventilation rates:
- Low Speed: 18 m³/h (1.4 W power consumption) - Ideal for continuous background ventilation.
- Medium Speed: 31 m³/h (2.8 W power consumption) - For increased ventilation needs.
- High Speed: 38 m³/h (3.3 W power consumption) - For rapid air exchange, e.g., after cooking or showering.
The system also features humidity recovery, typically around 20-30%, to prevent excessive drying of indoor air during colder months.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your Lunos e² ventilation system.
Filter Replacement/Cleaning:
The G3 filter should be checked regularly and replaced or cleaned as needed, typically every 3-6 months depending on air quality.
- Turn off the ventilation system at the main switch.
- Carefully remove the interior panel.
- Remove the G3 filter.
- Clean the filter by vacuuming or gently washing with warm water (if washable type). Allow to dry completely before reinstallation. Replace if heavily soiled or damaged.
- Reinsert the clean/new filter and reattach the interior panel.
- Turn the system back on.
Ceramic Heat Exchanger Cleaning:
The ceramic heat exchanger should be cleaned annually or if performance degrades.
- Turn off the ventilation system.
- Remove the interior panel and filter.
- Carefully pull out the ceramic heat exchanger unit.
- Clean the ceramic core under running water. Do not use harsh detergents. Allow to dry completely.
- Reinsert the dry ceramic heat exchanger, ensuring correct orientation.
- Reinstall the filter and interior panel.
- Turn the system back on.
Exterior Grille Cleaning:
Periodically inspect and clean the exterior grille to ensure unobstructed airflow.
