4. Setup

4.1 Site Selection

Choose a level location in your yard or garden that has access to a GFCI-protected electrical outlet. Ensure the area can support the weight of the fountain when filled with water. Consider proximity to trees or plants that may drop debris into the fountain.

4.2 Basin Installation

Install the AquaBasin 45 (or equivalent reservoir) according to its specific instructions. The basin should be buried flush with the ground or placed on a stable surface, ensuring it is level.

4.3 Pump and Tubing Connection

1. Place the Ultra 1500 Water Pump inside the basin.
2. Connect appropriate tubing from the pump outlet to the inlet at the bottom of the Stacked Slate Sphere fountain. Ensure all connections are secure to prevent leaks.
3. Route the pump's power cord out of the basin, ensuring it is not pinched or damaged.

4.4 Fountain Placement

Carefully place the Stacked Slate Sphere fountain onto the installed basin, ensuring the tubing is properly aligned and not kinked. The fountain should sit securely and level on the basin.

4.5 Filling the Basin

Fill the basin with clean water until the pump is fully submerged and the water level is sufficient for the fountain to operate without drawing air. The water will circulate up through the center of the sphere and cascade over its stacked slate texture.

5. Operation

5.1 Initial Start-up

Once the basin is filled, plug the pump into a GFCI-protected electrical outlet. Water should begin to flow from the top of the sphere and cascade down. Allow a few minutes for the water to fully circulate and settle.

5.2 Water Level Monitoring

Regularly check the water level in the basin, especially during warm or windy weather, as evaporation will occur. Refill as needed to ensure the pump remains fully submerged and operates efficiently.
