Before installing the receiver, you must set the DIP switches on both the remote control and the receiver unit to the same combination. This ensures proper communication between the two devices and prevents interference from other remote-controlled devices in your home.
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control. Open it to access the DIP switches.
- Locate the DIP switches on the receiver unit. These are typically small switches that can be set to an 'ON' or 'OFF' position.
- Choose any combination of 'ON' and 'OFF' settings for the DIP switches. Ensure the exact same combination is set on both the remote control and the receiver unit.
- Close the battery compartment on the remote control.
3.3 Battery Installation
The remote control requires one 12V battery (included). To install or replace the battery:
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
- Insert the 12V battery, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals are correctly aligned.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
3.4 Receiver Installation (Professional Installation Recommended)
The receiver unit must be installed within the canopy of your ceiling fan. This process involves working with electrical wiring and should ideally be performed by a qualified electrician.
- Disconnect power to the ceiling fan at the circuit breaker.
- Remove the ceiling fan canopy to access the wiring.
- Wire the receiver unit according to the wiring diagram provided in the separate installation sheet. Typically, this involves connecting the receiver's input wires to the household supply and its output wires to the fan and light fixtures.
- Carefully tuck the receiver unit into the fan canopy, ensuring no wires are pinched.
- Reattach the fan canopy.
- Restore power at the circuit breaker.
3.5 Wall Mount Installation
