4. Choosing the Right Fan
Selecting the appropriate ceiling fan involves considering several factors to ensure optimal performance and aesthetic integration with your space.
Video 4.1: An instructional video from Progress Lighting on how to select the perfect ceiling fan in 5 steps, covering various considerations for fan selection.
Room Size and Fan Diameter
The fan's diameter should correspond to the room's square footage for effective air circulation. Refer to the sizing chart below:

Figure 4.1: Guide for selecting the appropriate fan size based on room dimensions.
Ceiling Height
For safety and optimal performance, the bottom of the fan blades should be at least 7 feet (84 inches) from the floor. This hugger-style fan is designed for close-to-ceiling applications, making it suitable for rooms with lower ceiling heights.

Indoor Use
This fan is designed for indoor use only. While some fans are rated for outdoor use, this model is specifically for interior environments such as bedrooms, living rooms, or bonus rooms.
5. Installation Guide
Professional installation is recommended. Ensure power is disconnected at the circuit breaker before proceeding.
5.1 Mounting the Fan
- Secure the mounting bracket to the ceiling outlet box. The outlet box must be listed for fan support of 35 lbs (15.9 kg) or less.
- Carefully lift the fan motor assembly and attach it to the mounting bracket.

5.2 Wiring the Fan
- Connect the fan's electrical wires to the household wiring according to the wiring diagram provided in the separate installation sheet. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Carefully tuck the wires into the outlet box, ensuring no wires are pinched.
5.3 Attaching the Fan Blades
The fan includes three reversible plywood blades with medium cherry and classic walnut finishes. Choose your desired finish before attachment.
- Attach each blade to the motor assembly using the provided screws. Ensure they are securely fastened.

5.4 Installing the Light Kit
- Connect the light kit wires to the corresponding wires from the fan motor assembly.
- Secure the light kit to the bottom of the fan motor assembly.
5.5 Remote Control Setup
- Install the included 12V battery into the remote control.
- Follow the pairing instructions in the separate installation sheet to synchronize the remote with the fan.

6. Operating Instructions
The fan is operated using the included remote control.
6.1 Fan Speed Control
Use the fan speed buttons on the remote to adjust the airflow. The fan offers multiple speed settings for customized comfort.
6.2 Light Control and Dimming
Press the light button to turn the integrated LED light on or off. Hold the light button to dim or brighten the light to your desired level.
6.3 Reversible Motor Function
The fan features a reversible AC motor for year-round comfort. A switch on the fan motor housing allows you to change the direction of blade rotation.
- Counter-Clockwise (Forward): Used during warmer months to create a downward airflow, producing a cooling effect.
- Clockwise (Reverse): Used during cooler months to create an upward airflow, circulating warm air near the ceiling and distributing it throughout the room.

7. Care and Maintenance
Regular care ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your ceiling fan.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the fan blades and motor housing. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Blade Balance: Periodically check the blades for any signs of warping or damage. If the fan wobbles, ensure all blade screws are tightened.
- Electrical Connections: Annually inspect all electrical connections for tightness and wear.
8. Troubleshooting
Refer to the table below for common issues and their solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Fan does not start | No power to the fan; loose wire connections; remote control not paired or battery dead. | Check circuit breaker; ensure all wiring is secure; replace remote battery or re-pair remote. |
| Light does not work or is dim | Loose wire connection to light kit; integrated LED module failure; dimming setting too low. | Check light kit wiring; contact customer support for LED module replacement; adjust dimming level with remote. |
| Fan wobbles | Loose blade screws; unbalanced blades; improper mounting. | Tighten all blade screws; ensure blades are installed correctly; verify mounting bracket is secure and level. |
| Fan is noisy | Loose screws; motor hum; blades hitting an obstruction. | Check and tighten all screws; ensure no wires are rubbing; verify blades are clear of obstructions. Some motor hum may be present at lower speeds. |
