Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to install your M.2 SSD into the enclosure:
- Ensure the enclosure is disconnected from any power source.
- Gently pull out the internal PCB board from the aluminum casing.
- Carefully insert your M.2 SSD into the M.2 slot on the PCB board. Ensure it is fully seated at a 45-degree angle.
- Secure the SSD by clamping the washer in the notch at the end of the SSD.
- Lock the washer with Screw A from the PCB back using the provided screwdriver.
- Attach the thermal pad to the SSD for optimal heat dissipation.
- Slide the PCB board with the installed SSD back into the aluminum casing.
- Close the enclosure and secure it with Screw B.

Important Note: When installing the round washer to assemble the SSD and PCB, pay attention to the thickness of the washer; the upper side should be thin and the bottom side thick. When inserting the PCB into the casing, press down slightly to ensure proper insertion due to the shrapnel design.
Operating Instructions
Connecting the Enclosure
Connect the SSK M.2 SSD Enclosure to your computer or compatible device using one of the provided USB cables (USB-C to USB-C or USB-C to USB-A). For optimal performance, use a USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) or Thunderbolt 3 port.

Initial Use (New SSDs)
If you are using a new SSD for the first time, it may not be immediately recognized by your operating system. You will need to partition and format it before it can be used normally. This process is typically done through Disk Management on Windows or Disk Utility on macOS.
For compatibility across both Mac and Windows operating systems, it is recommended to format the SSD to EXFAT.
Data Transfer and Indicator Light
The blue indicator light on the enclosure shows the data transfer status. A solid light indicates connection, while a blinking light indicates active data transfer.
The enclosure supports UASP and Trim, which enhance speed and extend the longevity of the SSD.
Safe Ejection
Always use your operating system's "Safely Remove Hardware" function (Windows) or "Eject" (macOS/Linux) before disconnecting the enclosure to prevent data corruption or loss.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your SSK M.2 SSD Enclosure, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the enclosure. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the enclosure in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Handling: Handle the enclosure with care to prevent drops or impacts, which could damage the internal components or the SSD.
- Heat Dissipation: The aluminum alloy shell is designed for excellent heat dissipation. Ensure proper airflow around the enclosure during prolonged use.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your SSK M.2 SSD Enclosure, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- SSD Not Detected:
- For new SSDs, ensure it has been partitioned and formatted via Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS).
- Verify that the SSD is correctly installed and fully seated in the M.2 slot within the enclosure.
- Try connecting the enclosure to a different USB port or a different computer to rule out port or system issues.
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected at both ends.
- Slow Transfer Speeds:
- Ensure you are connected to a USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) or Thunderbolt 3 port on your host device. Older USB ports (e.g., USB 2.0, USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1) will result in lower speeds.
- Verify that your SSD supports the expected speeds.
- Check the integrity of the USB cable; try a different cable if available.
- Enclosure Gets Warm:
- It is normal for the aluminum enclosure to become warm during high-speed data transfers, as it acts as a heatsink to dissipate heat from the SSD. This design helps protect the SSD.
- Ensure the thermal pad is correctly installed on the SSD.
- Compatibility Issues:
- This enclosure is compatible with NVMe PCIe and SATA M-Key / (B+M) Key M.2 SSDs of sizes 2242, 2260, and 2280.
- It is not compatible with M.2 PCIe AHCI SSDs, M.2 PCIe devices like WiFi cards, mSATA SSDs, or non-M.2 form factor SSDs.
