Maintenance

Cleaning the Remote

To clean the remote control, gently wipe its surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote's finish or internal components.

Battery Care

  • Replace batteries when the remote's performance degrades or stops functioning.
  • Always replace both batteries at the same time with new ones of the same type (AA).
  • Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
  • If the remote control will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and potential damage.
  • Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.

Troubleshooting

Remote is not responding:
  • Ensure the remote has fresh AA batteries installed correctly, observing polarity (+/-).
  • Check if there are any obstructions between the remote control and the Onkyo A/V AV Receiver's infrared sensor.
  • Verify that you are within the effective range and pointing the remote directly at the receiver.
  • Confirm that your Onkyo receiver model is listed as compatible with this replacement remote.
Some functions are not working:
  • As a replacement remote, it may not support all advanced or specific functions of your original remote. This is normal for some universal or replacement remotes.
  • Refer to your Onkyo receiver's original manual to confirm if the function requires a specific button or sequence not present on this replacement remote.
