Setup

1. Unpacking and Initial Cleaning

  1. Carefully remove all packaging materials from the coffee machine.
  2. Before first use, clean all removable parts (glass carafe, permanent filter, filter holder) with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
  4. Perform a trial run without coffee: Fill the water tank to the MAX level and run a full brewing cycle. Discard the water. This cleans the internal system.

2. Water Tank Filling

The machine features a smart water supply system that only uses the necessary amount of water for the selected number of cups.

  • Open the water tank lid.
  • Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water up to the desired level, indicated by the cup markings. Do not exceed the MAX line.
  • Close the water tank lid securely.

  • Fill the hopper with whole coffee beans (up to 200g). Ensure the freshness lid is properly closed after filling.
  • Alternatively, for pre-ground coffee: Press the button to swivel out the filter holder. Place the permanent gold filter (or a size 4 paper filter) into the holder. Add the desired amount of pre-ground coffee directly into the filter. Swivel the filter holder back into place.

Operating Instructions

1. Setting Time and Timer

  • Plug the machine into a power outlet. The LCD display will light up.
  • Use the control panel buttons to set the current time. Refer to the display for guidance.
  • To use the 24-hour timer function, program the desired brewing start time. The machine will automatically begin grinding and brewing at the set time.

2. Adjusting Grind Level (for whole beans)

The integrated conical grinder offers 28 levels of grind fineness, allowing you to customize your coffee's flavor profile.

  • Locate the grind adjustment dial, usually near the bean hopper.
  • Turn the dial to select your preferred grind level. Finer grinds are suitable for stronger coffee, while coarser grinds are for lighter brews.

3. Adjusting Coffee Strength and Quantity

The coffee dosage can be adjusted to 3 levels (light, medium, strong) with a simple button press. You can also select the number of cups (up to 12).

  • Use the dedicated buttons on the control panel to select the desired coffee strength.
  • Use the cup selection buttons to specify the number of cups you wish to brew. The smart water supply will ensure only the necessary water is used.

4. Brewing Process

  • Ensure the glass carafe is correctly placed on the keep-warm plate.
  • Press the START button to begin the brewing process. If using whole beans, the machine will first grind the beans, then proceed with brewing.
  • An acoustic signal will sound once the brewing process is complete.
  • The integrated keep-warm plate will maintain the coffee's temperature (between 90-96°C) for a period after brewing.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your coffee machine.

1. Daily Cleaning

  • Always unplug the machine before cleaning and allow it to cool down.
  • Remove the glass carafe, permanent filter, and filter holder. Wash them with warm, soapy water. The permanent gold filter is washable and reusable.
  • Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Clean the keep-warm plate with a damp cloth.

2. Grinder Cleaning

Periodically clean the grinder area to prevent blockages and ensure consistent grinding.

  • Ensure the bean hopper is empty.
  • Refer to the manual's specific instructions for removing and cleaning the grinder components. Use a brush to remove coffee residue.

3. Descaling

Depending on water hardness, descaling should be performed regularly (e.g., every 2-3 months) to remove mineral deposits.

  • Use a commercially available descaling solution suitable for coffee machines, or a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio).
  • Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
  • Run a brewing cycle without coffee.
  • After descaling, run at least two full cycles with fresh water to rinse the machine thoroughly.
