6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your SmartSee Wireless HD Display Adapter G4, refer to the following common solutions:
- No Display on TV:
- Ensure the adapter is securely plugged into the HDMI port.
- Verify that the TV is set to the correct HDMI input source.
- Check if the USB power cable is properly connected and the adapter is receiving power (some TVs may not provide enough power via their USB port; try an external 5V/1A USB power adapter).
- Unstable Connection or Disconnections:
- Ensure the adapter is connected to a stable 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. If your router has both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, ensure your device and the adapter are connected to the 2.4GHz band.
- Reduce the distance between your device, the adapter, and your Wi-Fi router.
- Check for firmware updates for the adapter.
- Cannot Mirror Android Device:
- Confirm that your Android device supports the Miracast protocol. Refer to your device's manual or manufacturer's website.
- Ensure the SmartSee adapter is switched to Miracast Mode.
- No Audio or Poor Audio Quality:
- Check the volume settings on both your source device and the TV.
- Ensure the HDMI cable connection is secure.
- Cannot Cast Certain Apps (e.g., Netflix, Hulu):
- The adapter does not support content protected by HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection). Apps like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and others often use HDCP, preventing mirroring.
