Installation
Before starting, ensure you have all necessary tools and components. Turn off the main water supply to your home.
Tools Required
- Adjustable Wrench
- Pipe Thread Tape
- Screwdriver (Phillips and Flathead)
- Pliers
- Sealant (Plumber's Putty or Silicone)
Installation Steps
- Prepare the Rough-In Valve: Install the pressure balance valve body into the wall according to the manufacturer's instructions and local plumbing codes. Ensure the valve is securely mounted and plumb. Connect the hot and cold water supply lines to the appropriate inlets on the valve.
- Install the Tub Spout: Apply pipe thread tape to the threads of the tub spout pipe extending from the wall. Thread the tub spout onto the pipe, ensuring it is hand-tight, then tighten with a wrench until secure and facing forward. Apply a bead of sealant around the base of the tub spout where it meets the wall.
- Install the Shower Arm and Showerhead: Apply pipe thread tape to both ends of the shower arm. Thread one end into the shower outlet in the wall. Tighten securely. Thread the shower flange onto the shower arm until it sits flush against the wall. Thread the showerhead onto the other end of the shower arm.
- Install the Faucet Trim: Place the escutcheon plate over the valve body, aligning the screw holes. Secure the escutcheon plate to the valve body using the provided screws. Attach the faucet handle to the valve stem, securing it with the set screw.
- Test for Leaks: Once all components are installed, slowly turn on the main water supply. Check all connections for leaks. If leaks are detected, turn off the water supply and tighten the connections as needed.

Operation
The Glacier Bay Aragon faucet features a single handle for controlling both water flow and temperature.
- To Turn On/Off: Lift the handle to turn on the water. Push the handle down to turn off the water.
- To Adjust Water Temperature: Rotate the handle left for hotter water and right for colder water.
- To Divert Water to Showerhead: Pull up the diverter knob located on the tub spout. Push it down to return water flow to the tub spout.
Maintenance
Cleaning
To maintain the finish of your faucet, clean it regularly with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or scouring pads, as these can damage the chrome finish. Rinse thoroughly with water after cleaning and wipe dry.
Washerless Valve Care
The faucet features a durable washerless valve designed for smooth operation and long life. No routine maintenance is typically required for the valve itself. If you experience issues with water flow or temperature control, refer to the troubleshooting section.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Low Water Flow | Clogged showerhead or aerator; partially closed shut-off valve. | Clean showerhead nozzles. Ensure shut-off valves are fully open. |
| Leaking from Handle Base | Loose connections; worn O-rings or seals within the valve. | Ensure handle screws are tight. If leaking persists, the valve cartridge may need inspection or replacement by a qualified plumber. |
| Water Temperature Issues | Improperly adjusted temperature limit stop; issues with hot/cold water supply. | Consult a plumber to check the temperature limit stop setting or water supply lines. |
| Tub Spout Diverter Not Working | Debris in diverter mechanism; worn diverter seal. | Clean the diverter mechanism. If necessary, the tub spout may need replacement. |
