Setup and Installation
- Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker or fuse that controls the power to the switch location. Turn it OFF. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
- Remove Old Switch (if applicable): Carefully remove the existing wall plate and switch from the electrical box. Disconnect the wires, noting their connections.
- Prepare Wiring: Strip approximately 1/2 inch (1.2 cm) of insulation from the ends of the circuit wires if necessary.
- Connect Wires: Refer to Figure 3 for terminal layout. Connect the electrical wires to the appropriate screw terminals on the back of the Aexit wall switch. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
- Line/Load Wires: Connect the incoming power (line) and outgoing power (load) wires to the designated terminals.
- Multi-Way Wires: For multi-way configurations, connect the traveler wires between switches as per your wiring diagram.
- Ground Wire: Connect the bare copper or green insulated ground wire to the ground screw (if present on your electrical box or switch).
- Mount Switch: Carefully push the wired switch into the electrical box. Secure it using the two M4 screws provided (refer to Figure 4). Do not overtighten.
- Install Wall Plate: Attach the decorative wall plate over the switch and secure it with its screws.
- Restore Power: Turn the power back ON at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
- Test Operation: Test the switch to ensure it functions correctly.
Note: If you are unsure about any step, consult a qualified electrician.
Operating Instructions
The Aexit 2-Gang Multi-Way Wall Switch operates as a standard push-button switch for controlling two separate electrical circuits (e.g., two different lights or appliances).
- On/Off Function: Press the upper part of a button to turn the connected circuit ON. Press the lower part of the same button to turn the connected circuit OFF.
- Independent Control: Each of the two buttons on the switch operates independently, allowing you to control two distinct loads from a single switch location.
- Multi-Way Operation: In a multi-way setup (e.g., 3-way or 4-way), the switch works in conjunction with other multi-way switches to control a single light or appliance from multiple locations. The state of the light (on/off) will toggle each time any of the connected multi-way switches are pressed.
Maintenance
The Aexit wall switch requires minimal maintenance. Follow these guidelines to ensure longevity and proper function:
- Cleaning: To clean the surface of the switch, gently wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish. Ensure power is off before cleaning.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the switch for any signs of damage, loose connections, or discoloration. If any issues are observed, turn off power and consult a qualified electrician.
- No User Serviceable Parts: There are no user-serviceable parts inside the switch. Do not attempt to disassemble the unit.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
