Setup
1. Battery Installation
The remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included). Ensure correct polarity (+/-) when inserting the batteries.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
- Slide the cover downwards or press the latch and lift to open.
- Insert two new AAA batteries, matching the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals as indicated inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover, ensuring it clicks securely into place.
2. Initial Setup and Device Pairing
This remote is designed for quick replacement and often requires no programming for its primary compatible devices, such as the Venturer Digital TV Converter Box (using code 2454). Simply install batteries and test functionality.
For other devices or if the remote does not function immediately, you may need to use the Code Search feature.
Using Code Search (Optional)
- Turn on the device you wish to control (e.g., TV, SAT/CBL/DTC, DVD/VCR).
- Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button on the remote until the indicator light turns on.
- While holding CODE SEARCH, press the device button you want to program (e.g., TV, SAT-CBL-DTC DVD-VCR). The indicator light will blink once and then remain on.
- Release the CODE SEARCH button. The indicator light should remain on.
- Point the remote at the device and repeatedly press the POWER button (or CHAN+ for some devices) until the device turns off. Pressing POWER sends a different code each time.
- Once the device turns off, press the ENTER button to save the code. The indicator light will turn off.
- Test other functions like VOLUME and CHANNEL to ensure proper operation. If not, repeat the process.

Storage
If the remote will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and potential damage.
Troubleshooting Guide
- Remote not responding:
- Check battery orientation and ensure they are fresh. Replace if necessary.
- Ensure there is a clear line of sight between the remote and the device. Remove any obstructions.
- Verify that the correct device button (e.g., TV, SAT-CBL-DTC DVD-VCR) has been selected.
- Device not responding to commands after setup:
- Repeat the Code Search programming steps carefully. The correct code might be further down the list.
- Ensure the remote is pointed directly at the device's IR receiver.
- Some buttons work, but others do not:
- This may indicate an incomplete or incorrect code. Try reprogramming the device using the Code Search feature.
- Some universal remotes may not support all functions of every device. Refer to your device's original manual for specific IR command compatibility.
- Remote does not control my specific TV/device:
- This remote is primarily designed as a replacement for RCA 3-Device remotes and is specifically compatible with Venturer Digital TV Converter Boxes (code 2454). While it has universal capabilities, full compatibility with all brands and models cannot be guaranteed. If the Code Search feature does not find a working code, your device may not be supported.
