1. Introduction

The JJC SR-F2 Wired Remote Control is designed to provide convenient remote operation for select Sony cameras and camcorders. This remote commander helps eliminate camera shake and offers various control functions for both video and still photography, including power control, zooming, focusing, shooting, and grid line display.

• Shutter Release Button: Two-step button for focusing (half-press) and shooting (full-press). Includes a lock for bulb shooting and continuous shooting.
• Power Button: Turns the connected camera or camcorder on/off.
• Grid Line Button: Cycles through grid line display options on the camera/camcorder screen.

4. Setup

1. Connect the Cable: Select the appropriate cable (Multi-Terminal or Remote Terminal) for your Sony camera or camcorder. Connect one end to the remote control and the other end to the corresponding port on your device.
2. Mount the Remote (Optional): If desired, attach the detachable clip to the remote. You can then clip the remote to a tripod handle, selfie stick, or use the 1/4"-20 thread on the back to mount it directly to a tripod or other accessory. The clip can rotate 360 degrees for optimal positioning.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power Control

• Press the POWER button to turn the connected camera or camcorder on or off.
• If the camera is in standby mode, pressing the POWER button will reactivate it.

5.2 Still Image Shooting

• Focus: Half-press the shutter release button to focus.
• Shoot: Fully press the shutter release button to take a photo.
• Bulb Lock: For long exposure shots, set your camera to Bulb mode. Half-press the shutter button, then slide the shutter release button down to lock it for continuous exposure.
• Continuous Shooting Lock: For continuous shooting, half-press the shutter button, then slide the shutter release button down to lock it.

5.3 Video Recording

• Press the START/STOP button to begin video recording. The indicator light on the remote will typically turn red.
• Press the START/STOP button again to end video recording. The indicator light will return to green (if powered on).

5.4 Zoom Function

• Press the W button to zoom out (Wide).
• Press the T button to zoom in (Telephoto).
• The zoom buttons support two-step operation: a light press for slow, smooth zooming and a full press for faster zooming. This allows for precise control over zoom speed.

• Press the GRID LINE button to toggle and cycle through various grid line display options on your camera or camcorder's screen.

Note: When used with mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras (e.g., A5000, A6000 series), the zooming function of this remote control will only work with power zoom lenses, such as the Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Kit Lens.

7. Troubleshooting

• Remote not responding: Ensure the cable is securely connected to both the remote and the camera/camcorder. Check if the camera/camcorder is powered on.
• Zoom function not working: Verify that your lens is a power zoom lens if using a mirrorless camera. Some prime lenses or manual zoom lenses do not support electronic zoom control.
• Camera not turning on/off: Confirm the camera's power settings and ensure it is not in a mode that overrides external power control.
• Intermittent connection: Inspect the cables for any damage or bends. Try using a different cable if available.
