5. Setup and Installation

Before you begin: Ensure you have a compatible 12V DC power supply and, for RGB functionality, an RGB controller (not included).

  1. Prepare the Surface: Clean and dry the surface where the LED strip will be installed. Ensure it is smooth and free of dust or grease for optimal adhesion.
  2. Measure and Cut (if necessary): Measure the desired length. The LED strip can be cut at designated cutting marks, typically indicated by a copper pad and a scissor icon, every 50mm. Use sharp scissors to ensure a clean cut.
  3. Connect to Power Supply/Controller:
    • For single color strips: Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) wires of the LED strip to the corresponding terminals on your 12V DC power supply.
    • For RGB strips: Connect the R, G, B, and V+ (common positive) wires of the LED strip to the corresponding output terminals on your RGB controller. Then, connect the RGB controller to your 12V DC power supply.
  4. Peel and Stick: Carefully peel off the adhesive backing from the LED strip. Press the strip firmly onto the prepared surface, ensuring good contact along its entire length.
  5. Secure Connections: Double-check all electrical connections to ensure they are secure and properly insulated.
  6. Test: Plug in the power supply to test the LED strip.
