Key Components:

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the internal rechargeable battery. Connect the supplied USB cable to the DC/USB port on the device and the other end to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port. The charging indicator light will show the charging status.

4.2 Inserting a Micro SD Card

To save photos and videos, a Micro SD card (not included) is required. Locate the Micro SD card slot on the side of the device. Gently insert the Micro SD card with the gold contacts facing down until it clicks into place. To remove, push the card in again until it springs out.

4.3 Assembling the Stand

Attach the main unit to the provided stand for stable observation. Secure the microscope into the stand's holder and adjust the height and angle using the stand's knobs to position the lens over your subject. Ensure all locking mechanisms are tightened to prevent movement during use.

4.4 Software Installation (for PC Connection)

For advanced features and PC connectivity, install the software from the included mini-CD. Insert the mini-CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive and follow the on-screen instructions. If your computer does not have a compatible CD drive, please visit the official Veho support website to download the latest software and drivers.

5. Operating

5.1 Powering On/Off

Press and hold the Power button (usually marked with a ⑂ symbol) for a few seconds to turn the device on or off. The LCD screen will illuminate upon startup.

5.2 Switching Modes (Microscope/Telescope)

The DX-3 functions as both a microscope and a telescope. For microscopic viewing, position the lens close to the subject (0.5cm to macro). For telescope function, aim the device at distant objects (3M to 500M). The device automatically adjusts its focus range based on the distance to the object. Use the focus wheel for fine adjustments.

5.3 Adjusting Magnification and Focus

The DX-3 offers up to 1600x digital magnification. Rotate the focus wheel on the lens barrel to achieve a clear image. For microscopic use, place the object directly under the lens. For telescopic use, point the device towards the desired distant object. Optimal focus points exist for different magnification levels.

5.4 Adjusting LED Illumination

For microscopic observation, the integrated LED lights provide illumination. Use the LED brightness adjustment knob (if present, typically a small wheel on the side) to control the intensity of the lights for optimal viewing conditions.

5.5 Capturing Photos and Videos

While viewing on the LCD screen, press the 'OK' button to capture a still image. To record video, navigate to the video mode using the menu buttons and then press 'OK' to start/stop recording. Videos are recorded at 1080P 30fps. All captured media is saved to the inserted Micro SD card.

5.6 Connecting to External Displays (HDMI/TV-out)

Connect the DX-3 to a television or monitor using an HDMI cable (not included) or the TV-out port for a larger viewing experience. Ensure the external display is set to the correct input source. The device's display will mirror on the external screen.

5.7 Connecting to a Computer (USB)

Connect the DX-3 to your computer using the USB cable. Once connected, the device can function as a webcam or allow access to the Micro SD card contents. Ensure the necessary drivers and software are installed on your computer for full functionality.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Device

Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the body of the device. For the lens and LCD screen, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the surfaces.

6.2 Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Recharge the device regularly, especially if it has not been used for an extended period. Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use.

6.3 Storage

When not in use, store the Veho Discovery DX-3 in its original packaging or a protective case to prevent dust accumulation and physical damage. Keep it away from extreme temperatures and humidity.
