  5. Close Casing: Reattach the NVR casing and secure it with screws.
  6. Format HDD: After powering on the NVR, navigate to the system settings to format the newly installed HDD. This is crucial for the NVR to recognize and utilize the storage.

3.4. Remote Access Setup (Danale Application / Dana CMS)

To view your surveillance system remotely on mobile devices or a PC, you need to use the Danale application or Dana CMS software.

  1. Download Danale App: For Android or iOS devices, download the "Danale" application from your respective app store.
  2. Download Dana CMS: For PC access, download the "Dana CMS" software from the official PNI support website (refer to product packaging or PNI website for download link).
  3. Register Account: Create an account within the Danale app or Dana CMS software.
  4. Add Device: Follow the in-app/software instructions to add your NVR device. This typically involves scanning a QR code displayed on the NVR's monitor or manually entering the device ID.
  5. Configure Network: Ensure your NVR is connected to the internet (via Ethernet or NVR's built-in WiFi if configured). The system supports P2P (Peer-to-Peer) for easy remote access without complex network configurations.

4. Operating the System

4.1. Live View

Once the NVR and cameras are set up, you can view live feeds on the connected monitor or through the Danale app/Dana CMS software. The NVR interface allows you to switch between single-camera view and multi-camera grid view.

4.2. Recording

The PNI WF550 supports various recording modes, including continuous recording, scheduled recording, and motion detection recording. Motion detection is a key feature, triggering recording only when movement is detected, saving storage space.

  • Motion Detection: Access the NVR's menu (right-click with mouse) and navigate to the "Record" or "Alarm" settings. Configure motion detection zones and sensitivity for each camera.
  • Scheduled Recording: Set specific times for the system to record continuously.

4.3. Playback

To review recorded footage:

  1. Access Playback: From the NVR's main interface, right-click with the mouse and select "Playback".
  2. Select Date and Time: Choose the desired date and time range for playback.
  3. Select Camera: Select the camera whose footage you wish to review.
  4. Review Footage: Use the playback controls (play, pause, fast forward, rewind) to navigate through the recordings.

4.4. Night Vision

The IP cameras are equipped with an automatic IR-cut filter and 3 powerful array LEDs, providing clear night vision up to 30 meters (98 feet). The system automatically switches to night vision mode in low-light conditions.

5. Maintenance

  • Camera Lens Cleaning: Periodically clean the camera lenses with a soft, damp cloth to ensure clear image quality. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • NVR Ventilation: Ensure the NVR unit has adequate ventilation to prevent overheating. Keep vents clear of dust and obstructions.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the official PNI website periodically for firmware updates for your NVR and cameras. Firmware updates can improve performance, add features, and enhance security. Follow the provided instructions carefully when performing updates.
  • Data Backup: If an HDD is installed, regularly back up important footage to an external storage device (e.g., USB drive) to prevent data loss.
  • Environmental Protection: While cameras are IP66 rated, extreme weather conditions (e.g., direct lightning strikes, prolonged submersion) should be avoided.

6. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No video display on monitor.NVR not powered on; Monitor not connected or input incorrect; NVR output resolution mismatch.Check NVR power adapter and power indicator. Ensure monitor cable is securely connected and monitor input is set correctly (HDMI/VGA). Try connecting to a different monitor or adjusting NVR display settings if accessible.
Cameras not showing on NVR.Camera not powered; Camera out of wireless range; Interference; Pairing issue.Verify camera power adapters are connected and working. Move cameras closer to the NVR to test wireless range. Reduce wireless interference from other devices. Check NVR settings for camera management and re-pair if necessary.
Remote access not working.NVR not connected to internet; Danale app/Dana CMS not configured correctly; Network firewall issues.Ensure NVR is connected to your router via Ethernet. Verify device addition and account login in the Danale app/Dana CMS. Check your router's firewall settings to ensure P2P communication is not blocked.
No recording or playback. No HDD installed; HDD not formatted; Recording schedule not set; Motion detection not configured.Install a compatible HDD if not already present. Format the HDD via NVR settings. Configure recording schedules or motion detection settings as desired.
