Philips Fabric Shaver GC026/80 Instruction Manual

Model: GC026/80 | Brand: Philips

Introduction

The Philips Fabric Shaver GC026/80 is designed to easily and quickly remove fabric pills, fuzz, and bobbles from all types of garments. This device helps revive your clothing, blankets, and other fabric items, making them look new again. Its efficient design ensures effective removal without damaging delicate materials.

Setup

  1. Unpack the Device: Carefully remove the Philips Fabric Shaver from its packaging. Ensure all components, including the shaver, cleaning brush, and batteries, are present.
  2. Install Batteries: The device requires 2 AA batteries (included). Locate the battery compartment on the back of the shaver. Slide open the cover, insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators (+/-), and close the cover securely.
  3. Attach Height Cap (Optional): For delicate fabrics, attach the height adjustable cap to prevent direct contact of the blades with the fabric surface. This helps protect the garment from damage.

Operating Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fabric: Lay the garment or fabric item flat on a hard, smooth surface. Ensure the fabric is taut and free of wrinkles in the area you intend to treat.
  2. Turn On the Device: Slide the power switch to the 'ON' position. The blades will begin to rotate at 8800 rounds per minute.
  3. Apply to Fabric: Gently move the fabric shaver over the pilled areas. Use light, even pressure. For optimal results, move the shaver in circular motions or in straight lines, depending on the fabric and the type of pills.
  4. Adjust for Delicates: If using on delicate fabrics, ensure the height adjustable cap is attached. This creates a small gap between the blades and the fabric, providing a gentler shaving action.
  5. Monitor Results: Observe the fabric as you work. The large blade surface and three sizes of holes in the mesh effectively capture and remove various sizes of pills.
  6. Turn Off: Once the desired smoothness is achieved, slide the power switch to the 'OFF' position.

Maintenance and Cleaning

  1. Empty the Lint Container: After each use, or when the lint container appears full, gently detach it from the main body of the shaver. Dispose of the collected lint and fuzz.
  2. Clean the Blades and Mesh: Use the provided small cleaning brush to remove any remaining lint or debris from the blades and the metal mesh. Ensure the device is turned off before cleaning.
  3. Reassemble: Once cleaned, reattach the lint container and the height cap (if removed) securely to the shaver.
  4. Storage: Store the fabric shaver in a dry, safe place away from children.
