Setup

Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
2. Slide the battery compartment cover downwards or press the latch and lift to open.
3. Insert two (2) AAA alkaline batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals match the diagrams inside the compartment.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it back into place until it clicks securely.

Note: Batteries are not included with the remote control. Always use new AAA alkaline batteries for optimal performance. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

Operating Instructions

Once batteries are installed, the remote control is ready for use. Point the remote directly at your Westinghouse television.

Basic Functions:

• Power (●): Turns the TV on or off.
• Mute: Mutes or unmutes the TV audio.
• VOL (+/-): Increases or decreases the volume level.
• CH (+/-): Changes the TV channel up or down.
• Number Buttons (0-9): Directly enter channel numbers.
• Input/Source Buttons (e.g., TV, AV, HDMI, YPbPr, VGA): Selects the input source for the television.
• Navigation Buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right, ENTER): Used to navigate menus and confirm selections.
• EXIT: Exits the current menu or on-screen display.
• MENU/S.M: Accesses the TV's main menu or service menu.
• EPG: Displays the Electronic Program Guide (if supported by TV and broadcast).
• FAV: Accesses favorite channels list.
• ASPECT: Changes the screen aspect ratio.
• CC: Activates or deactivates Closed Captions.
• MTS: Selects Multi-channel Television Sound options.
• DTV STRENGTH: Displays digital TV signal strength.
• TV DISPLAY: Shows current TV information.
• RECALL: Switches between the current and previously viewed channel.

Maintenance

Cleaning:

To clean the remote control, gently wipe its surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote's finish or internal components.

Storage:

When not in use for extended periods, store the remote control in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If the remote will not be used for several weeks or months, it is recommended to remove the batteries to prevent leakage and potential damage.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions:

• Remote not responding:
  • Ensure the remote is pointed directly at the TV's infrared sensor.
  • Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity (+/-).
  • Replace old batteries with new AAA alkaline batteries.
  • Remove any obstructions between the remote and the TV.
