5. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the security and functionality of your wall safe. This process requires construction work to embed the safe within a wall.
5.1 Site Preparation
- Select a suitable location within a wall that can accommodate the safe's dimensions and weight.
- Ensure the wall structure is sound and can support the safe once installed.
- Verify that there are no electrical wires, plumbing, or other obstructions within the chosen wall section.
5.2 Recessing the Safe
Construction work is required to create an opening in the wall for the safe. The adjustable depth feature allows the safe to adapt to various wall thicknesses.
- Carefully measure and mark the opening required for the safe, considering its external dimensions (21 cm H x 32 cm W x 15-22 cm D).
- Create the opening in the wall.
- Adjust the safe's depth to match the wall thickness. This model offers 4 extension positions at 25 mm intervals.
- It is recommended to remove the safe door during the embedding process to reduce weight and facilitate handling. Reattach the door only after the safe body is securely in place and sealed.

5.3 Securing the Safe
- Once the safe is positioned in the wall opening, ensure it is level and plumb.
- Secure the safe by filling the surrounding cavity with appropriate construction materials (e.g., concrete, mortar) to create a solid, immovable installation.
- Allow sufficient time for the construction materials to cure completely before using the safe.
6. Operating Instructions
Your ARREGUI Wall Safe uses a double map key lock system for secure access.
6.1 Opening the Safe
- Insert one of the provided user keys into the keyhole on the safe door.
- Turn the key clockwise (or as indicated by the lock mechanism) until the bolts retract.

- Insert the key into the keyhole.
- Turn the key counter-clockwise (or as indicated) until the bolts extend and the door is securely locked.
- Remove the key and store it in a secure location.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable operation of your ARREGUI Wall Safe.
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the safe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
- Lock Mechanism: Periodically check the lock for smooth operation. If the key feels stiff, a small amount of graphite lubricant (not oil-based lubricants) can be applied to the key and inserted into the lock.
- Key Care: Handle keys with care. Avoid bending or damaging them. Store spare keys securely and separately from the safe.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your safe, consider the following common solutions:
- Key is Stiff or Not Turning:
- Ensure the key is fully inserted into the keyhole.
- Gently jiggle the key while turning.
- Apply a small amount of graphite lubricant to the key and reattempt.
- Door Not Closing Properly:
- Check for any obstructions inside the safe or around the door frame that might prevent it from closing flush.
- Ensure the internal shelf is correctly positioned and not interfering with the door.
