Setup
Power Source: Solar and Battery
The Sharp EL-760R calculator operates using a dual power system: solar energy and a single LR44 button cell battery. The solar panel powers the calculator in well-lit environments, while the battery provides power in low-light conditions or when solar power is insufficient.
Battery Installation/Replacement:
- Ensure the calculator is turned off.
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the calculator.
- Using a small screwdriver, carefully open the battery compartment cover.
- Remove the old LR44 battery (if replacing).
- Insert a new LR44 battery with the positive (+) side facing upwards.
- Securely close the battery compartment cover.
- Turn on the calculator to verify proper installation.

Operating Instructions
Basic Arithmetic Operations:
- Addition (+): Enter the first number, press +, enter the second number, then press =.
- Subtraction (-): Enter the first number, press -, enter the second number, then press =.
- Multiplication (×): Enter the first number, press ×, enter the second number, then press =.
- Division (÷): Enter the first number, press ÷, enter the second number, then press =.
Memory Functions:
- M+ (Memory Plus): Adds the displayed value to the memory.
- M- (Memory Minus): Subtracts the displayed value from the memory.
- R-CM (Recall Memory / Clear Memory):
- Press once to recall the value stored in memory.
- Press twice to clear the memory (sets memory to zero).
Special Functions:
- % (Percentage): Used for percentage calculations.
- To calculate X% of Y: Enter Y, press ×, enter X, press %.
- To add X% to Y: Enter Y, press +, enter X, press %.
- √ (Square Root): Enter a number, then press √ to find its square root.
- +TAX / -TAX (Tax Calculation): These keys are used for adding or subtracting a pre-set tax rate.
- Setting the Tax Rate: Press RATE SET, enter the tax percentage, then press +TAX.

- C/CE (Clear Entry / Clear All):
- Press once to clear the last entered number or calculation entry (Clear Entry).
- Press twice to clear all calculations and reset the calculator (Clear All).
- CA (Clear All): Clears all entries and memory, resetting the calculator to its initial state.
Maintenance
