Introduction

The Sonos Amp is a versatile amplifier designed to power all your entertainment. It delivers 125 Watts per channel, supporting high-fidelity sound for various speaker types including outdoor, bookshelf, floor-standing, and architectural speakers. The Amp integrates seamlessly with over 100 streaming services and features an HDMI ARC input for TV connectivity, as well as a line-in for turntables or other audio sources.

Setup

Initial Placement

The Sonos Amp is designed to fit standard racks and can also be wall-mounted. Ensure proper ventilation around the unit.

Connecting Speakers

Connect your passive speakers to the Sonos Amp using the provided banana plugs. The Amp supports a wide range of speakers, including outdoor, bookshelf, and floor-standing models.

Powering On

Connect the AC Power Cord to the Amp and then to a power outlet. The Amp will power on automatically.

Network Connection

For stable connectivity, connect the Sonos Amp to your home network via Ethernet. Alternatively, the Amp features built-in Wi-Fi for wireless setup.

Operating Instructions

Sonos App Control

Download the Sonos app on your iOS or Android device to control the Amp. The app allows you to connect to streaming services, discover music, and personalize settings.

Touch Controls

The Sonos Amp features touch controls on its front panel for basic functions such as play, pause, skip, repeat, and volume adjustment.

HDMI ARC Connectivity

Connect the Amp to your TV's HDMI ARC port to enjoy stereo sound for shows, movies, and video games. The Amp can also be wirelessly paired with Sonos One surrounds for an immersive home theater experience.

Line-In Input

Use the line-in input to connect external audio sources such as a turntable, CD player, or other audio devices.

AirPlay 2

Send audio directly from your Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac) to the Sonos Amp using AirPlay 2.

Voice Control

For hands-free control, the Sonos Amp is voice compatible when paired with smart devices such as Sonos One or Beam.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Regularly wipe the Sonos Amp with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

Ventilation

Ensure that the Amp has adequate airflow around it to prevent overheating. Do not block ventilation openings. The rack-mountable design includes a specially developed heatsink for optimized airflow and heat management.

Troubleshooting

No Power

• Check if the power cord is securely connected to the Amp and the power outlet.
• Verify that the power outlet is functional.

No Sound

• Ensure speakers are correctly wired to the Amp.
• Check volume levels on the Amp and through the Sonos app.
• Verify the correct input source is selected in the Sonos app.

Network Connectivity Issues

• Restart your router and the Sonos Amp.
• If using Wi-Fi, ensure the Amp is within range of your router.
• Consider using an Ethernet cable for a more stable connection.
