5. Setup

  1. Locate the OBDII Port: The OBDII port is typically located under the dashboard on the driver's side of the vehicle. Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual if you cannot locate it.
  2. Connect the Scanner: Plug the OBDII connector cable into the vehicle's OBDII port. Ensure a secure connection.
  3. Power On: Once connected, the scanner will automatically power on, drawing power from the vehicle's battery. The main menu will appear on the screen.

  • Freeze Frame: Captures a snapshot of operating conditions at the moment a fault code was set.
  • O2 Sensor Test: Retrieves O2 sensor monitoring test results.
  • On-Board Monitoring: Retrieves test results for emission-related powertrain components and systems that are not continuously monitored.
  • EVAP System Test: Initiates a test of the Evaporative Emission Control System.
  • Vehicle Information: Displays the vehicle identification number (VIN), calibration ID, and calibration verification number (CVN).
