Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Miele Complete C3 Calima Canister HEPA Vacuum Cleaner. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and care of your appliance. Please read these instructions thoroughly before initial use to ensure optimal performance and to prevent damage.
1. Setup and Assembly
1.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.
- Verify that all listed components are present.
1.2 Assembling the Vacuum Cleaner
- Attach the Hose: Insert the hose connector into the suction opening on the vacuum cleaner until it clicks into place. To detach, press the release buttons on the side of the connector.
- Assemble the Telescopic Wand: Connect the handle to the telescopic wand until it clicks. Then, connect the telescopic wand to the floorhead (Turbobrush or Parquet Floor Brush) until it clicks. Adjust the wand length by pressing the release button and extending or retracting.
- Install FilterBag and Filters: Ensure a Miele GN AirClean FilterBag and AH50 HEPA Filter are correctly installed before use. Open the dust compartment lid, insert the FilterBag into the holder, and ensure the HEPA filter is securely seated in its compartment.

1.3 Power Connection
Extend the power cord from the rear of the appliance. Insert the plug into a suitable electrical outlet. The vacuum cleaner is designed for 120V AC power. Do not use extension cords unless absolutely necessary and ensure they are rated for the appliance's wattage (1200 watts).

2. Operating Instructions
2.1 Powering On/Off and Suction Control
Press the foot pedal power button (marked with a circle) on the canister to turn the vacuum cleaner on or off. The Miele Complete C3 Calima features a 1200-watt Vortex motor with adjustable suction power. Use the foot pedal controls marked with '+' and '-' to increase or decrease suction power according to the cleaning task and surface type.

2.2 Using Floorheads
- STB 305-3 Turbobrush: This air-driven turbobrush is ideal for low to medium pile carpets and area rugs. The rotating roller brush effectively loosens dirt, sweeps up fluff, and collects hair. Adjust suction power as needed to prevent the brush from sticking to the carpet.
- SBB300-3 Parquet Floor Brush: Designed for gentle yet effective cleaning of all smooth flooring, such as wood, tile, and laminate. Its maneuverable design allows it to reach under furniture and along baseboards.

2.3 Using Integrated Accessories
The vacuum cleaner includes three integrated accessories: a crevice tool, a dusting brush, and an upholstery tool. These are stored conveniently on the appliance. To use, detach the floorhead and telescopic wand, then connect the desired accessory directly to the handle.
- Crevice Tool: For cleaning narrow gaps, corners, and edges.
- Dusting Brush: For dusting delicate surfaces, curtains, and ornate items.
- Upholstery Tool: For cleaning upholstered furniture, mattresses, and cushions.
2.4 Cord Rewind
To retract the power cord, gently pull the cord slightly and release. The automatic rewind mechanism will pull the cord back into the appliance. Guide the cord to prevent it from whipping.
3. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Miele vacuum cleaner.
3.1 Replacing the FilterBag
Replace the Miele GN AirClean FilterBag when the 'Change FilterBag' indicator on the canister turns red, or when suction power noticeably decreases. Always use genuine Miele GN AirClean FilterBags for best performance and filtration.
- Open the dust compartment lid.
- Pull the tab on the FilterBag collar to seal the opening.
- Remove the full FilterBag and dispose of it.
- Insert a new Miele GN AirClean FilterBag into the holder, ensuring it is fully unfolded inside the compartment.
- Close the dust compartment lid securely.
3.2 Replacing the HEPA Filter
The AH50 HEPA AirClean Filter should be replaced approximately once a year, or when the filter change indicator (if present) signals replacement. This filter is crucial for maintaining the AirClean Sealed System and trapping fine dust and allergens.
- Locate the HEPA filter compartment, typically at the rear of the vacuum cleaner.
- Open the compartment and remove the old HEPA filter.
- Insert a new Miele AH50 HEPA AirClean Filter, ensuring it is correctly oriented and sealed.
- Close the filter compartment lid securely.
3.3 Replacing Pre-Motor Protection Filters
The pre-motor protection filter protects the motor from dust and debris. These filters are typically replaced with every fourth FilterBag change or as needed. Refer to your specific model's instructions for location and replacement.
3.4 Cleaning Floorheads and Accessories
Regularly inspect and clean the floorheads and accessories. Remove any tangled hair or threads from the Turbobrush roller. Wipe down all components with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not immerse any parts in water.
4. Troubleshooting
