2. Safety Information

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking and Assembly

  1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging materials for future transport or storage.
  2. Refer to the separate assembly guide (if provided) for detailed step-by-step instructions. Ensure all bolts, nuts, and washers are securely fastened.
  3. Verify that all moving parts operate smoothly and without obstruction after assembly.

3.2 Placement

  • Choose a flat, stable surface for the elliptical. Uneven surfaces can affect stability and performance.
  • Ensure there is at least 0.6 meters (2 feet) of clear space around the elliptical for safe operation and access.
  • As the ERX-9000 is self-powered, you are not restricted by power outlet locations.
  • Avoid placing the machine in direct sunlight or in areas with extreme temperatures or high humidity.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Console Overview

The ERX-9000 features a user-friendly console with multiple LED displays and intuitive controls.

  • Program Indicators: MANUAL, PROGRAM, WATT, USER SETTINGS, HRC.

  • START/PAUSE/STOP: Initiates, pauses, or ends a workout.
  • RECOVERY: Activates the recovery heart rate test function.
  • +/- Buttons: Adjusts resistance levels, program parameters, or data input values.
  • RESET: Clears current workout data or returns to the main menu.
  • ENTER: Confirms selections or inputs.

4.2 Starting a Workout

  1. Step onto the elliptical pedals. The console will automatically power on as you begin pedaling due to its self-powered system.
  2. The console will display initial data or prompt for user settings.
  3. Press the START/PAUSE/STOP button to begin a manual workout, or select a program as described below.

4.3 Program Selection

The ERX-9000 offers a variety of workout programs:

  • Manual: Control resistance manually using the +/- buttons.
  • Pre-programmed: Choose from 12 pre-set workout profiles. Use +/- to navigate and ENTER to select.
  • User Programs: Create and save up to 4 custom workout profiles.
  • HRC (Heart Rate Control): Target specific heart rate zones. Requires heart rate input.
  • WATT: Maintain a constant power output (Wattage) during your workout.

4.4 Resistance Adjustment

The ERX-9000 features an electronic magnetic induction braking system with 32 levels of resistance.

  • During a manual workout, use the +/- buttons on the console to increase or decrease the resistance level.
  • In program modes, resistance may adjust automatically according to the program profile.

4.5 Heart Rate Monitoring

Monitor your heart rate using the integrated hand pulse sensors or an optional wireless chest strap.

  • Hand Pulse Sensors: Grip the sensors on the handlebars firmly with both hands. Your heart rate will be displayed on the console after a few seconds.
  • Wireless Chest Strap: The console has an integrated receiver for a wireless chest strap (not included). Wear a compatible chest strap for continuous and more accurate heart rate monitoring.

4.6 Ending a Workout

To end your workout:

  • Press the START/PAUSE/STOP button. The console will pause or end the workout, displaying a summary of your session.
  • You can then press RESET to clear the data or simply step off the machine. The console will eventually power down automatically.

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Toorx ERX-9000.

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the machine with a damp cloth after each use to remove sweat and dust. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ERX-9000, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
