2. Important Compatibility Information
This Xfinity xFi Pod is a FIRST GENERATION device and is ONLY compatible with Xfinity rented routers/modems (xFi Gateways). It WILL NOT WORK with consumer-owned routers or modems.

3. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your Xfinity xFi Pod:
- Download the xFi App: Ensure you have the latest version of the Xfinity xFi app installed on your smartphone or tablet. This app is essential for the setup process.
- Plug in the Pod: Select an outlet in an area where you experience weak WiFi signals, but still within range of your xFi Gateway. Plug the xFi Pod directly into the electrical outlet. Avoid using power strips or extension cords.
- Follow In-App Instructions: Open the xFi app and follow the on-screen prompts to activate and configure your new xFi Pod. The app will guide you through connecting the Pod to your existing xFi network.
- Optimal Placement: For best performance, place Pods in areas that need improved coverage, ideally halfway between your xFi Gateway and the devices you want to connect. Avoid placing Pods near large metal objects, microwaves, or other electronics that may cause interference.
4. Operation
Once successfully set up, your xFi Pod will seamlessly integrate with your xFi Gateway to form a mesh WiFi network. This means your devices will automatically connect to the strongest available WiFi signal, whether it's from your Gateway or an xFi Pod, as you move around your home.
