Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Sunnyglade 4-Piece 200LB Square Patio Umbrella Base. This manual provides essential information for the safe and proper assembly, operation, and maintenance of your umbrella base. Please read these instructions carefully before use and retain them for future reference.
Safety Information
- Always ensure the umbrella base is fully filled with sand or water to achieve maximum stability before inserting an umbrella.
- Do not use the umbrella base on uneven surfaces. Ensure it is placed on a flat, stable ground.
- In strong winds or severe weather conditions, close and secure your patio umbrella, or remove it from the base to prevent damage or injury.
- Keep children and pets away from the umbrella base during assembly and when an umbrella is in use.
- Regularly inspect the base for any signs of wear or damage. Do not use if damaged.
- This base is designed for cantilever offset patio umbrellas with a cross bar base (cross bar base not included).

Setup Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Location
Choose a flat, stable surface for your patio umbrella. Ensure there is enough space for the umbrella to open and close without obstruction.
Step 2: Position the Cross Bar Base
Place your cantilever umbrella's cross bar base (not included) in the desired location.

Step 3: Place the Base Plates
Carefully place each of the four square base plates onto the arms of the cross bar base. Ensure they fit securely and are aligned around the central pole receiver.

Step 4: Fill the Base Plates
Unscrew the fill cap on each plate. Fill each plate with either water or sand. For maximum stability, it is recommended to fill with sand, which provides approximately 200 pounds of total weight when all four plates are filled. Ensure each plate is completely filled.

After filling, securely screw the fill caps back onto each plate to prevent leakage.
Step 5: Secure the Umbrella Pole
Insert your umbrella pole into the central receiver of the cross bar base. Tighten any securing knobs or bolts on your umbrella's cross base to hold the pole firmly in place.

Operating Instructions
Filling and Emptying
The base plates are designed with easy-to-access fill spouts. To fill, unscrew the cap and pour water or sand into the opening. To empty, unscrew the cap and tilt the plate to drain water or pour out sand. For sand, a funnel may be helpful.
Placement
Always place the umbrella base on a level, stable surface. Ensure the weight is evenly distributed across all four plates for optimal stability.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the base plates with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners that may damage the HDPE plastic.
- Inspection: Periodically check the fill caps to ensure they are tightly sealed. Inspect the plates for any cracks or damage, especially after severe weather.
- Storage: During winter months or extended periods of non-use, it is recommended to empty the plates (especially if filled with water to prevent freezing and cracking) and store them in a dry, protected area. The plates feature a handle design on the bottom for easier transport when empty.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Umbrella base is unstable. | Plates not fully filled; uneven surface; umbrella too large for base weight. | Ensure all plates are completely filled with sand or water. Move to a level surface. Confirm umbrella size is appropriate for a 200LB base. |
| Water leakage from plates. | Fill caps not tightened; crack in plate. | Tighten fill caps securely. Inspect plates for damage; if cracked, replace the affected plate. |
| Difficulty filling with sand. | Small opening; sand clumping. | Use a funnel to aid filling. Ensure sand is dry and free of clumps. |
