1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the ANSMANN LED Flashlight, Model 1600-0257. This professional-grade flashlight is designed for various applications, offering high brightness, durability, and versatile lighting functions. Please read this manual carefully before using the product to ensure safe and optimal performance.

This flashlight features a powerful 20W CREE LED, delivering up to 1500 lumens of light with a range of 240 meters. Its robust aluminum housing is IP54 rated for dust and splash protection and is shock-resistant up to 1 meter. The optical zoom allows for continuous focusing from a precise spot beam to a wide, homogeneous floodlight. Three lighting modes (100%, 25%, and SOS) provide flexibility for different situations.

2. Safety Instructions

  • Do not look directly into the LED light. The intense light can cause temporary or permanent vision impairment.
  • Keep the flashlight out of reach of children.
  • Do not disassemble or modify the flashlight. This may void the warranty and pose a safety risk.
  • Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity. Incorrect insertion can damage the device.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Unscrew the tail cap of the flashlight by turning it counter-clockwise.
  2. Insert the 6 AA alkaline batteries into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  3. Screw the tail cap back on clockwise until it is securely tightened.

4.2 Attaching the Wrist Strap

Thread the thin loop of the wrist strap through the small hole located on the tail cap of the flashlight. Secure the strap by passing the larger end through the loop and pulling it tight.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off and Mode Selection

The flashlight features a microcontroller-controlled end switch for operation:

  • To Turn On/Off: Press the end switch completely until it clicks.
  • To Cycle Modes: Once the flashlight is on, lightly press the end switch (without clicking) to cycle through the three lighting modes:
    1. 100% Brightness (High Power): Provides 1500 lumens for maximum illumination.
    2. 25% Brightness (Eco Mode): Provides 350 lumens for extended battery life.
    3. SOS Function: Emits an international Morse code distress signal (three short, three long, three short flashes).

5.2 Optical Zoom (Focusing)

The flashlight features a continuous optical zoom function:

  • To adjust the beam from a narrow spot to a wide floodlight, rotate the head of the flashlight.
  • Turn clockwise for a focused spot beam.
  • Turn counter-clockwise for a broad floodlight.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the flashlight with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace all 6 AA batteries when the light output diminishes significantly. Always replace with new, high-quality alkaline batteries.
  • Storage: Store the flashlight in a cool, dry place. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent corrosion.
  • Water and Dust Protection: The IP54 rating protects against dust and splashing water. Ensure the tail cap is securely tightened to maintain this protection. Avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain or submersion.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Flashlight does not turn on.
  • Batteries are depleted.
  • Batteries are inserted incorrectly.
  • Tail cap is loose.
  • Replace all 6 AA batteries.
  • Check battery polarity and reinsert correctly.
  • Tighten the tail cap securely.
Light output is dim.
  • Batteries are low.
  • Flashlight is in Eco Mode (25% brightness).
  • Replace batteries.
  • Cycle through modes to select 100% brightness.
Beam cannot be focused.
  • Head of the flashlight is stuck.
  • Gently twist the head to loosen it. Ensure no debris is obstructing the mechanism.
