2. Product Overview
The Sharp UA-HD60E-L is an advanced air purifier and humidifier designed to improve indoor air quality. It features Plasmacluster ion technology, a multi-stage filtration system, and intelligent sensors.

3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the air purifier from its packaging. Ensure all packing materials are removed from the unit, especially around the filters and air vents.
3.2 Filter Installation
The filters are typically pre-installed but may have protective plastic wrapping that needs to be removed before first use.
- Open the rear panel of the air purifier.
- Remove the pre-filter, odor filter, and HEPA filter.
- Remove any plastic packaging from each filter.
- Reinstall the filters in the correct order: Odor filter, then HEPA filter, followed by the pre-filter. Ensure they are securely seated.
- Close the rear panel.

3.3 Water Tank Filling (for Humidification)
To use the humidification function, the water tank must be filled.
- Locate the water tank on the side of the unit.
- Pull out the water tank.
- Open the water tank cap and fill with clean tap water. Do not exceed the maximum fill line.
- Securely close the cap and reinsert the water tank into the unit.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Control Panel Overview
The control panel is located on the top of the unit and features various buttons and indicators.

4.2 Power On/Off
- To turn on the unit, press the POWER button.
- To turn off the unit, press the POWER button again.
4.3 Mode Selection
Press the MODE button to cycle through the available operating modes:
- Auto: The unit automatically adjusts fan speed and humidification based on sensor readings.
- Advanced Auto: An enhanced automatic mode for more precise control.
- Max: Operates at the highest fan speed for rapid purification.
- Med: Medium fan speed.
- Low: Low fan speed for quiet operation.
- Pollen: Optimized for pollen removal.
- Ion Shower: Releases a high concentration of Plasmacluster ions for 60 minutes to refresh the air.

4.4 Humidification Function
Press the HUMIDIFY button to activate or deactivate the humidification function. Ensure the water tank is filled.
4.5 Timer Function
Use the TIMER button to set the operating duration (e.g., 2, 4, 8 hours). The unit will automatically turn off after the set time.
4.6 Child Lock
To prevent accidental operation, activate the child lock by pressing and holding the CHILD LOCK button for a few seconds. Repeat to deactivate.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your air purifier. Always unplug the unit before cleaning.
5.1 Pre-filter Cleaning
The pre-filter should be cleaned approximately once a month, or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.
- Remove the rear panel and then the pre-filter.
- Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and debris from the pre-filter.
- If heavily soiled, wash the pre-filter with water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before reinstallation.
5.2 HEPA and Odor Filter Replacement
The HEPA and odor filters are not washable and must be replaced periodically (typically every 2-5 years, depending on usage). Refer to the filter indicator light on the control panel.
- Remove the rear panel and then the old HEPA and odor filters.
- Dispose of the old filters responsibly.
- Install new genuine Sharp replacement filters, ensuring correct orientation.
- Close the rear panel and reset the filter indicator (refer to control panel instructions).

5.3 Humidification Filter and Water Tank Cleaning
The humidification filter and water tank should be cleaned regularly to prevent mold and bacteria growth.
- Remove the water tank and humidification filter.
- Wash the water tank with water and a mild detergent.
- Clean the humidification filter by soaking it in a descaling solution (e.g., citric acid solution) or a mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly.
- Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling.
5.4 General Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
