- Assemble Articulating Arm and Hitch Post:
- Connect the articulating arm assembly to the hitch receiver post. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for securing these components, typically involving bolts and nuts.
- Ensure all connections are tight and stable.
- Install Mount into Vehicle Hitch:
- Slide the hitch receiver post into your vehicle's 2-inch hitch receiver.
- Align the pinholes and insert the hitch pin. Secure it with the provided clip.
- Verify that the mount is firmly seated in the hitch and does not wobble excessively.
- Mount TV onto Arm Assembly:
- With assistance, carefully lift the TV (with attached brackets) and hook it onto the articulating arm assembly.
- Secure the TV to the arm using the locking mechanisms or screws as indicated in the detailed assembly instructions provided with the product.
- Double-check all connections for security before releasing the TV.
6. Operating Instructions
Once the TV is securely mounted, you can adjust its position for optimal viewing.
- Tilt Adjustment: The mount allows for a tilt range of +5° to -15°. Loosen the tilt adjustment knobs/bolts, adjust the screen to your desired angle, and then securely tighten the knobs/bolts to lock the position.
- Swivel Adjustment: The articulating arm provides a full 360° (±180°) swivel capability. Gently push or pull the TV to rotate it horizontally to the desired viewing direction. Ensure the arm's joints are not over-extended or stressed.
- Height Adjustment: The vertical post of the mount may offer multiple height settings. To adjust, remove the securing pin, raise or lower the arm assembly to the desired height, and reinsert the pin, ensuring it passes through both holes.
- Transport: Before moving the vehicle, ensure the TV is removed from the mount or securely folded and locked into a compact, stable position to prevent damage during transit.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your TV mount.
- Cleaning: Wipe the mount with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
- Periodic Inspection: Regularly check all bolts, screws, and connections to ensure they remain tight. Retighten as necessary.
- Lubrication: If joints become stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to moving parts, avoiding contact with the TV.
- Storage: When not in use, store the mount in a dry place to prevent rust or corrosion.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Mount wobbles in hitch receiver. | Hitch pin not fully inserted or secured; incorrect hitch size. | Ensure hitch pin is fully inserted and secured with the clip. Verify vehicle has a 2-inch hitch receiver. |
| TV is not level. | TV mounting plate not level; uneven tightening of screws. | Adjust the TV mounting plate on the back of the TV. Ensure all screws are tightened evenly. |
| Difficulty adjusting tilt/swivel. | Adjustment knobs/bolts are too tight; joints require lubrication. | Loosen adjustment knobs/bolts slightly. Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to the joints if necessary. |
| TV appears too heavy for the mount. | TV exceeds maximum weight capacity. | Immediately remove the TV. Do not use a TV that exceeds the 80 lbs (36 kg) weight limit. |
