5. Installation Guide
Follow these steps for proper installation of your new YAMATIC pressure washer pump:
5.1 Pre-Installation Checks
- Ensure the engine is off, cool, and the spark plug wire is disconnected.
- Verify your engine has a 7/8" vertical shaft.
- Confirm the mounting dimensions of your pressure washer frame match the pump. Refer to Figure 5.1 for pump dimensions.

Figure 5.1: YAMATIC pressure washer pump mounting dimensions.
5.2 Mounting the Pump
- Carefully align the pump's shaft with the engine's crankshaft.
- Insert the provided shaft key into the keyway on the engine shaft, then slide the pump onto the shaft.
- Align the pump's mounting holes with the corresponding holes on the pressure washer frame.
- Secure the pump using the provided mounting bolts and washers. In some cases, spacers may be required between the pump and the frame for proper fitment. Ensure all bolts are tightened securely.
- If your pressure washer has a front inlet/outlet engine, you may need to rotate the pump 180 degrees and potentially drill new mounting holes. This modification should only be attempted if you have the necessary tools and expertise.

5.3 Connecting Hoses
- Connect your garden hose to the 3/4" NH inlet on the pump. Ensure a tight, leak-free connection.
- Connect your pressure washer hose to the M22x1.5-14mm outlet on the pump.
- If using the chemical injection feature, connect the siphon tube with filter to the designated chemical injection port.
6. Operation
Once the pump is installed and hoses are connected, follow these steps to operate your pressure washer:
6.1 Starting the Pressure Washer
- Ensure the water supply is turned on and flowing to the pump.
- The YAMATIC pump features an easy start design, eliminating the need to release pressure before starting the engine.
- Follow your pressure washer engine's starting procedure (e.g., choke, throttle, pull cord).
6.2 Adjusting Pressure
The pump is equipped with an adjustable unloader, allowing you to increase or reduce the pressure to suit your cleaning needs and the engine's requirements. Turn the unloader knob to adjust the pressure.

7. Maintenance
The YAMATIC pressure washer pump is designed for minimal maintenance:
- Maintenance-Free Crankcase: This pump features a maintenance-free crankcase, meaning you do not need to change the oil.
- Thermal Relief Valve (TRV): The integrated TRV protects the pump from overheating when operating in bypass mode, extending the pump's lifespan.
- Stainless Steel Filter: The inlet is equipped with a stainless steel filter to prevent impurities from entering and damaging the pump. Regularly inspect and clean this filter to ensure proper water flow.
- Winter Storage: Before storing the pressure washer for winter or in freezing conditions, ensure all water is drained from the pump and hoses to prevent damage from freezing.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your YAMATIC pressure washer pump, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- No Water Flow or Low Pressure:
- Ensure the water supply is fully open and the garden hose is not kinked.
- Check the stainless steel inlet filter for clogs and clean if necessary.
- If air is present in the garden hose, disconnect the hose from the pump, run water through it until no air comes out, then reconnect it to the pump.
- Verify that the adjustable unloader is set correctly.
- Pump Leaking:
- Check all hose connections for tightness.
- Inspect O-rings and seals for wear or damage.
- Engine Runs but Pump Does Not Build Pressure:
- Ensure the water supply is adequate and free of air.
- Check for blockages in the inlet or outlet.
- Difficulty Mounting:
- Confirm the shaft size and mounting pattern match your engine.
- Some engine sumps may require longer bolts or shims for proper clearance.
If problems persist after attempting these troubleshooting steps, contact YAMATIC customer support for further assistance.
